For two quarters against the vaunted Hamilton Tiger-Cats, the Toronto Argonauts looked like a team capable of putting its horrid start to the season behind it. Alas, the Argos fell back to Earth with a resounding thud en route to another double-digit loss – and now face the daunting task of playing another road game on a short week as they visit the Ottawa Redblacks. Ottawa is coming off a much-needed bye week following a 40-18 thumping in Saskatchewan.

CFL Odds and Betting

The line is a great one for Ottawa bettors, with any win by an unconverted touchdown or more resulting in a cash. But don’t be surprised to see the number grow before kickoff, with Toronto just 7-21-1 ATS in its previous 29 road games and an equally dismal 1-8-1 ATS in its past 10 vs. East Division opponents. The Redblacks have covered just once in their past five games at TD Place, but are an encouraging 5-2 ATS in their last seven vs. divisional foes.

The Argos’ offensive showing against the Tiger-Cats and the Redblacks’ defensive struggles might give pause to those considering the under for Saturday’s matchup, which is set at 52. But don’t ignore the fact that the Argos have gone 4-1 to the under in their past five games against teams with losing records, while the Redblacks are a sizzling 14-6 in favour of the under in their last 20 vs. the East. These teams have gone under in four straight games in Ottawa.

Toronto Argonauts

Bad second-half performances are becoming a bit of a bad habit for the Argos, who let a double-digit lead slip away for the second consecutive game on the way to their third loss in a row. But a slight majority of Sports Interaction bettors believe in Toronto, with 53 percent taking the visitors to cover in Week 13. And for what it’s worth, the Argonauts come into the weekend having covered four straight times following a non-cover in their previous game.

Ottawa RedBlacks

If you’re into bye week trends, there are two that stand out with regard to the Redblacks: They’re just 2-5 ATS in their last seven games following a week off, but have gone above the number in nine of their previous 11 post-bye contests. The Redblacks would love nothing more than to come away with the victory – and they’re making a big change to help facilitate that, promoting backup quarterback Jonathon Jennings to the starting role.
