The Stampeders could find themselves in a tie for first place in the division after this weekend – or they could wind up in fourth place, depending on what happens. Montreal has dropped two in a row following a three-game winning streak.

CFL Odds and Betting

Calgary is comfortably favoured in the first of two regular-season meetings between the teams, and that might come as a modest surprise given how the Stampeders have fared at home this season. While they’re 3-1 SU through their first four games at McMahon Stadium, they’ve covered just one of those contests with the three victories coming by a combined 20 points. And Montreal is an incredible 9-2 ATS in its previous 11 road games.

The total for this one has remained in the low-50s since being posted – and that might bode well for bettors who have faith in both sides continuing their solid under trends. The Alouettes enter the weekend having gone below the number in 10 of their previous 14 road outings, while the Stampeders are a sizzling 10-2 to the under in their past 12 games following a successful cover. The teams have also made good on the under in eight of their last 10 meetings.

Montreal Alouettes

The banged-up Alouettes are due to get some reinforcements in time for this weekend’s pivotal encounter in Alberta. Quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. and running back William Stanback both returned to practice after missing last week’s loss to the Roughriders; Adams is recovering from a concussion, while Stanback was out with lower-body injury. Stanback’s return is of particular interest given that he has already racked up 753 total yards and four TDs to date.

Calgary Stampeders

Is this the week that Bo Levi Mitchell returns to action? It isn’t clear yet, with Mitchell listed as questionable to return under center for the first time since suffering a pectoral injury in Week 3. Nick Arbuckle took the majority of practice reps Wednesday after Mitchell returned to practice on Tuesday. The Stampeders have gone 4-2 SU and 3-3 ATS in six games with Arbuckle at the helm, while posting an eye-popping 1-5 O/U mark over that stretch.
