Khari Jones, Alouettes, 2019

Head Coach Khari Jones will likely use a similar game plan this weekend as he did last week in the loss to the Tiger-Cats. Jones opted to use starter Vernon Adams Jr. and before half inserted back-up Matthew Shiltz for the remainder of the game.

These two teams split the previous two games of the season series, but since they last met in early August, both of these franchises have headed in opposite directions.

CFL Odds and Betting

The Redblack have won one home game all season long and are 2-6 against the spread in their last eight home games.

The Alouettes are 4-11 ATS in the last 15 games against the Redblacks. They have also struggled on Friday nights, going 3-13 ATS in their last 16 games on this day. However, they are 12-4 ATS in their last 16 road games.

Of note, perhaps the Alouettes are a good value bet to win the Grey Cup; they are currently paying +800 at Sports Interaction to do so.

Montreal Alouettes

The Alouettes earned their first playoff spot since 2014 in week 17, and they will host the Eastern semi-final against the Edmonton Eskimos.

First they must play their final regular season game Friday in Ottawa against the Redblacks.

Head Coach Khari Jones will likely use a similar game plan this weekend as he did last week in the loss to the Tiger-Cats. Jones opted to use starter Vernon Adams Jr. for a little less than a half of football, turning him with a 14-6 lead. Adams finished the short outing going 11-of-14 for 142 yards and two touchdowns. Matthew Shiltz played the remainder of the game in the loss to Hamilton.

Running back Jeremiah Johnson rushed for 105 yards on 16 carries, while William Stanback missed the game (one game IR list). No word on if Stanback will return for this matchup, but he should be ready for the post season.

Ottawa RedBlacks

The Redblacks miserable 2019 season will finally come to an end this Friday night. Most of the fan base is looking forward it, and wondering what will happen this off-season to the roster.

In the meantime, they club will try to stop the massive 10-game losing streak when they close out the season at home. Ironically, the last time the Redblacks won a game it was against the Alouettes, back on August 2 in a 30-27 win.

The team is now 3-14 on the season. The offence has struggled for the better part of the season, but none more than the last six games. Over the last six games, the Redblacks have scored just 70 points, for an average of 11.66 points per game.
