Alouettes vs. RedBlacks Prediction: CFL Week 19 Point Spread, Odds
After the Redblacks spoiled Montreal’s chance to clinch a playoff spot at home last week with a 24-18 win, the Alouettes will get a second chance when they visit Ottawa on Friday.
The Als are 3.5-point favourites to win on the CFL odds, with a total of 47.5.

This concludes the four-game regular season series between these teams, with Ottawa taking two of three up to this point. It’s worth noting the road team has won five straight games and nine of the last 10. Last week’s low scoring affair was the norm as the total has gone Under in four of the last six games.
Montreal is likely feeling good about their chances in this game as they’re 5-0 straight up in their last five trips to Ottawa. They’ve been a great cover option on the road this season, going 5-2 against the spread away from Percival Molson Memorial Stadium. Low scoring games have been a trend for the Als lately, with the total going Under in four of their last five overall.
Home field has been a curse for the Redblacks this season as they’ve dropped all seven games at TD Place. They haven’t been any better at covering, going 0-7 ATS at home. Ottawa has also trended toward low scoring games, with the total going Under in seven of their last 10 at home dating back to last season.
Montreal Alouettes
Last week’s loss was disappointing for the Als, but they still have three chances to secure a spot in the playoffs. A big reason for the loss was Montreal’s lack of ability to capitalize in the red zone, where they were held to field goals in three of four trips. Quarterback Trevor Harris completed 30 of 38 pass attempts on the day, finishing with 338 passing yards and a touchdown. Harris’ favourite target was Geno Lewis, who had 108 yards and a touchdown on nine receptions. Running back William Stanback made his return to the field after breaking his ankle in Week 1. Stanback, last year’s CFL rushing yards leader, finished with 20 yards on eight carries.
Montreal picked up a few more injuries last week. Centre Sean Jamieson suffered a knee injury in the second quarter and had to be helped off the field by two teammates. Wide receiver Reggie White Jr. also left in the first half with a knee injury. Both have been ruled out of Friday’s game. That’s a big loss considering White is the Alouettes second-leading receiver.
Ottawa RedBlacks
Last week was a great debut on the sidelines for Bob Dyce as Ottawa’s new interim head coach found a way to win in his debut. The win snapped a three-game losing streak and moved Ottawa to 4-4 on the road this season. It’s still fairly unlikely the Redblacks will make the playoffs, but another win on Friday puts them in a much better position. Quarterback Nick Arbuckle completed 28 of 32 passes last week, finishing with 229 passing yards. Caleb Evans added two rushing touchdowns from the one-yard line.
Ottawa didn’t leave last week unscathed, however. Receivers DeVonte Dedmon (quadricep) and Jaelon Acklin (head/shoulder) as well as running back William Powell (shoulder) all left the game with injuries. Dedmon, Acklin, Powell and offensive lineman Dino Boyd (shoulder) have all been ruled out of Friday’s game.
