Titans vs. Jaguars Point Spread: NFL Week 3 Odds, Prediction

The Tennessee Titans try for their sixth straight divisional win when they travel to Jacksonville to take on a Jaguars team fresh off a huge victory over Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. Both teams could be down significant starters in the offensive backfield.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

Tennessee took down Houston last weekend and is now 5-0 straight up and against the spread in its last five games against AFC South opponents. The road has not been kind to Tennessee. The Titans are 9-22 against the spread in their last 31 away contests and 16-39-2 ATS in their last 57 games following a straight up win.

Mike Vrabel’s group is averaging just 309.5 offensive yards per game after the first two weeks of the season and it faces one of the most dominating defences in the NFL.

Jacksonville finished second last season in total defence and first against the pass after allowing just 169.9 yards per game a year ago. The Jaguars held the Pats to just three points in the first half and Brady to only 234 passing yards in the game overall.

The Jags are 4-0 ATS in their last four matchups and 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven home games against the Titans.

Tennessee Titans

Starting quarterback Marcus Mariota didn’t play last weekend against the Houston Texans and is iffy to suit up against Jacksonville in Week 3. Backup QB Blaine Gabbert has a chance to take down Jacksonville, the team that took him with the 10th pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, for the second time in two years.

Gabbert started under centre for the Arizona Cardinals when the AFC West club topped the Jaguars 27-24 last season. The journeyman signal caller has craved a place for himself in the league as a serviceable backup and a decent option for spot starts. He’s 3-3 with seven TD passes and six interceptions in his last six career starts with the Titans and Cardinals.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Jacksonville bettors should pay close attention to the status of stud running back Leonard Fournette. The second-year bulldozer sat out last weekend’s game against New England because of a hamstring problem he picked up in Week 1.

While Fournette’s availability is up in the air, there’s no uncertainty surrounding Cam Robinson. The starting left tackle is out with a torn ACL. Backup Mike Wells didn’t allow a sack against the Pats but Tennessee’s outside rushers will test the Jags’ offensive line.
