Edmonton Oilers vs. Florida Panthers Prediction, NHL Odds
Edmonton’s started a five-game road trip with a trio of multi-goal losses, allowing a minimum of four goals in each. Edmonton’s fallen out of first place in the Pacific Division, and now have L.A. hot on their tail.
Thursday is the beginning of a stretch of five-straight home games for the Panthers. Florida sits one point behind Toronto for first in the Atlantic Division, which is gearing up to be a crucial race down the stretch as two of Toronto, Florida, and Tampa Bay are poised to meet in the first round of the playoffs — the odd team out having clinched first in the Atlantic.

Oilers vs. Panthers NHL Betting Odds
Thursday is the final of two regular season meetings between Edmonton and Florida. The Panthers edged out a 6-5 win back in December, picking the fireworks from last year’s Stanley Cup Final right back up. In the Panthers’ championship win last year, they played shutdown defence and came out on the right side of low-scoring contests; three of Florida’s four wins in the series saw the total go under, while all three of Edmonton’s wins had the total go over.
Over a current four-game losing streak, the Oilers have allowed 22 goals. Florida’s 3.27 goals per game sits just outside the top five in the NHL this season. Seven of Edmonton’s last 10 road games have gone over the total too, so while the Panthers typically win in low-event games — the fireworks are poised to come out again on Thursday.
Edmonton Oilers
It’s a broken record at this point, but goaltending is hurting the Oilers during this slump. The duo of Stuart Skinner and Calvin Pickard are both under .900 save percentages this season, and Skinner didn’t have a night to remember in Saturday’s 4-1 loss at Tampa Bay. Edmonton’s been connected to several goaltending trade rumours this season, and the fire is only getting warmer as neither Skinner or Pickard elevates their game.
Someone who is elevating his game though is Leon Draisaitl. The superstar forward is up to an NHL-leading 43 goals this season and has scored in six consecutive games. The 43 goals is nearly double of any other Oilers skater, which is expected except for the fact this is a team with Connor McDavid who is currently on five straight games without a goal.
Florida Panthers
Sam Bennett remains on a tear after his huge 4 Nations Face-Off performance. Bennett registered a Gordie Howe hat trick on Tuesday in a 4-1 win over Nashville, driving up the pending UFA’s stock come this off-season. But before then, Bennett’s playing a key role on a Florida squad looking to defend their title. Bennett’s 19 goals has him third on the Panthers, and one of eight skaters with double-digit goals this season.
Since the 4 Nations Face-Off break, Florida’s been back to shutdown hockey. The Panthers have allowed a total of 40 shots over their last two outings, making life easy for the duo of Sergei Bobrovsky and Spencer Knight. The splits in 2024–25 have been nearly even for the two, but it’s Knight who’s played a little better this season with a .907 save percentage.
