It will be an all-Czech matchup in the Wimbledon women’s singles final on Saturday afternoon, but that’s just about where the similarities end between these competitors. Karolina Muchova, 29, is the veteran; Linda Noskova, 21, is the newcomer.

Semifinal Thursday was a tale of two very different matches for this pair of finalists. Muchova survived a 6-2, 1-6, 7-6(12-10) thriller against Coco Gauff in which the American had match point at 9-8 in the tiebreaker and missed what should have been an easy drop-shot winner. Meanwhile, Noskova had no trouble erasing Marta Kostyuk 6-4, 6-4.

Let’s break down the odds for the Wimbledon women’s final and discuss the best bets to make.

Wimbledon best bet: Karolina Muchova ML over Linda Noskova (-120)

Although both women are somewhat surprising finalists, Muchova is no stranger to this kind of stage. The veteran played in the 2023 French Open championship match and accounted herself extremely well, falling to heavy favourite Iga Swiatek 6-2, 5-7, 6-4. It was not exactly a one-hit wonder of a result, either. Muchova has now reached at least the quarterfinals of a Grand Slam eight times, including at least the semis on four occasions.

The world No. 9 had previously advanced to the quarterfinals at the All-England Club in 2019 and 2021. She has traveled two steps farther this time around thanks to an impressive run that not only features a victory over Gauff, but also a three-set defeat of former-Wimbledon champion Barbora Krejcikova and a straight-set success against Naomi Osaka.

Noskova is playing great, but she had advanced to just one major quarterfinal prior to arriving in London. After reaching the last eight at the 2024 Australian Open, these were her next nine Grand Slam results: second round, second round, first round, first round, first round, fourth round, third round, third round and first round.

From a tactical and stylistic standpoint, this showdown feels like a toss-up, but the intangible advantages go to Muchova.

Wimbledon best bet: Karolina Muchova vs Linda Noskova Over 22.5 games (-125)

With some exceptions, the over is generally the play to make when it comes to grass-court tennis matches. Service breaks are often few and far between, making tiebreakers necessary and leading to plenty of games in each set. With a total of 22.5, even a two-set contest has a decent chance of going over.

There is an even greater chance, however, of this match going to a third set. The only previous encounter between these two compatriots came at last summer’s U.S. Open, where Muchova prevailed 6-7(5), 6-4, 6-2. In Muchova’s last four matches of this fortnight, three have featured a tiebreaker. The only one that did not was a 7-5, 5-7, 6-3 thriller against Krejcikova. Noskova has played a couple of three-setters so far during this event, including a third-round battle with Sorana Cirstea that went to 11-9 in a super-tiebreaker.

It is also worth noting that each woman is bidding for a first Grand Slam title. From a mental standpoint, it won’t be easy for whoever has the lead to close this match out in routine fashion.

Wimbledon best bet: Karolina Muchova Over 5.5 aces (+100)

Muchova has struck 19 aces in her last three matches. She also fired at least nine aces on three different occasions during her trek to the title match. When these Czechs squared off at the 2025 U.S. Open, Muchova sent seven aces past Noskova.

Asking the 10th seed to record at least six on Saturday should not be too much given Noskova ranks dead last among top-50 players in percentage of return points on which she gets aced over the past 52 weeks (7.6 per cent). Nobody else in the top 50 has a percentage worse than 6.8 percent. To put it in simpler terms, Noskova is the easiest player to ace – by far – in the entire top 50 of the WTA rankings.
