2025 U.S. Open Odds and Betting Preview: Men’s Singles Picks and Best Bets

According to the US Open odds, it is a two-horse race on the men’s side between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz. However, there are plenty of legitimate challengers in the mix – among them Novak Djokovic, Jack Draper, Ben Shelton, Alexander Zverev, and Taylor Fritz.

Djokovic is a four-time champion of this tournament, Draper and Shelton are former semifinalists, and both Zverev and Fritz have finished runner-up at Flushing Meadows. Let’s break down the odds and discuss the best bets to make.

U.S. Open Men’s Singles Odds

Sinner has every reason to be priced as a considerable favourite. The top-ranked Italian has won the last three hard-court majors – both the Australian Open and U.S. Open last year and the Australian Open again in 2025. He captured the Wimbledon title earlier this summer, so Sinner remains on a roll.

Alcaraz is not quite as good as Sinner on hard courts, but the second-ranked Spaniard has won this event before (2022), and he is coming off a triumph in Cincinnati (Sinner retired in the final due to illness).

As for the American contingent, it is looking for its first U.S. Open title in men’s singles since 2003 (Andy Roddick). Two of the top seven guys on the odds list hail from the host nation, with Shelton coming in at +2200 and Fritz not far behind at +3000.

Here is the short list of favourites to lift the trophy at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center:

  • Jannik Sinner +105
  • Carlos Alcaraz +200
  • Novak Djokovic +1400
  • Jack Draper +2200
  • Ben Shelton +2200
  • Alexander Zverev +2500
  • Taylor Fritz +3000
  • Daniil Medvedev +8000
  • Jakub Mensik +10000
  • Lorenzo Musetti +10000
  • Frances Tiafoe +10000
  • Alex de Minaur +10000

U.S. Open Men’s Singles Best Bet: Taylor Fritz to win at +3000 odds

Fritz went all the way to the U.S. Open final last summer (lost to Sinner), and he is once again playing very well this summer. The fourth-ranked American won two titles on grass and then made a run to the Wimbledon semifinals, where he succumbed to Alcaraz in a fourth-set tiebreaker. On hard courts, he reached the quarterfinals in Washington, D.C., the semis in Toronto, and the fourth round in Cincinnati.

Fritz’s draw in New York is favourable, as he would not face Alcaraz until the semis and Sinner until the championship match. The 27-year-old could run into Djokovic in the quarters, but the 38-year-old Serb is past his prime and has been inconsistent at best throughout the 2025 campaign. Obviously, Sinner and Alcaraz have the best chances to win. However, at such short odds, the value on those guys is nowhere near as good as it is on Fritz.

U.S. Open Men’s Singles Prediction: Karen Khachanov to win at +15000 odds

With no value on Sinner and Alcaraz as massive favourites, it is worth looking at a significant longshot on the futures market. Perhaps no such player has better value than Khachanov.

The 29-year-old Russian was a U.S. Open semifinalist in 2022. His other major semifinal appearance came at the Australian Open in 2023, so it’s clear that an outdoor hard court is his favourite surface. Khachanov is also in stellar form this summer, having advanced to the Wimbledon quarterfinals before finishing runner-up to Shelton in Toronto.
