Toronto FC vs. Inter Miami MLS Preview and Prediction
Inter Miami heads north to take on Toronto FC in a clash between two Eastern Conference sides.
Inter Miami recently clinched a spot in the playoffs, while Toronto was officially eliminated from contention after drawing against the New England Revolution last weekend.
Toronto FC has a lot to prove, and winning on Saturday would help them pull comfortably away from last place. Miami’s been on a hot streak, but it’s anyone’s game.
Let’s break down our Toronto FC vs Inter Miami prediction, which kicks off at 4:30 p.m. ET on Saturday.
Miami is a -110 favourite to win on the MLS odds, while Toronto is a +240 underdog. A draw is listed at +290.
Toronto FC vs. Inter Miami MLS Odds and Betting Trends
Since 2020, these two sides have faced off 12 times, with Inter Miami winning nine of them. Toronto took home only two wins, one of which was their first meeting ever, with their most recent victory against the Herons dating back to March 2023. However, they did contest a 1-1 draw when they faced off earlier this season in April.
For Saturday afternoon’s matchup, we find Toronto FC priced at +240 on the three-way moneyline as they enter with a -7 goal differential. At the same time, Miami are favourites at -110 with the third-highest goal differential in the league at 18. The Over/Under is set at 3.5.
Inter Miami
Inter Miami have been running away with points, scoring three goals or more in each of their last four matches, with their most recent 4-0 win against NYCFC away clinching them a spot in the MLS playoffs in October. They sit third in the East with 55 points, and their only recent slip-up was the August 31 Leagues Cup final, which ended in a 3-0 loss to the Sounders.
Who else but Lionel Messi would lead the goal-scoring charts with 24 goals and 13 assists after just 23 games? Teammates Tadeo Allende, Telasco Segovia and Luis Suarez reached eight, seven and seven goals apiece. Messi comes in at -130 to score at any time while Suarez holds +165 odds, which are both good bangs for your buck.
Toronto FC
The Reds are ready for the season to end, as they struggled to qualify for the playoffs this year and currently reside in 12th place in the Eastern Conference with just 27 points. They’ve dropped many points in recent games and have turned into perennial draw specialists, with each of their last five matches ending as a tie. Most recently they drew 1-1 with the Columbus Crew.
The team’s top-scoring forward, Theo Corbeanu, only has six goals to his name this season. He’s marked at +265 to score anytime tonight.
MLS Prediction: Who Will Win Toronto FC vs. Inter Miami?
I’m almost certain Inter Miami has this matchup on lock. Messi, Suarez and Sergio Busquets have all been in incredible form, while Messi alone is enough to knock down any team.
On the flip side, Toronto hasn’t found its true identity this season, and while they can defend decently against top teams, they don’t have an answer on the offensive end of the pitch.
In Toronto’s current form, a draw is certainly possible with an early goal and heavy defence strategy, but for this one, I’m going with Inter Miami to win 4-0.
