Spain vs. Germany Prediction: Euro 2024 Quarterfinals Odds

The Spaniards are +160 to win, the Germans +175 and a regulation draw +220.

Spain vs. Germany Odds

Spain and Germany are the only countries to win the European Championship three times. Currently, the Spaniards are  +400 second-favourites behind England and the Germans +450. The winner of this match faces the winner of Portugal-France (3 ET on Friday) next Tuesday in the semifinals. On the teams to reach the final prop, England-Spain is the +600 leader and England-Germany at +700.

On the draw no bet, Spain is -125 and Germany -115. The favoured method of victory is La Roja in regular time at +160 and then Germany in regular time at +175. The longest shot at +1250 is Germany after extra time. On first time to score, Spain is +100 with Germany +105 and no goals +700. That both teams score is -135 and no -110. Spain to win and both score is +400 while Germany for the same is +425. The overall favoured exact final score is 1-1 at +525.

Spain has beaten Germany in their only previous two knockout matches at major tournaments, 1-0 victories in the Euro 2008 final and 2010 World Cup semifinals. The last meeting between the countries was a 1-1 draw in the 2022 World Cup group stage.

Spain

Spain is the only team at Euro 2024 to win every match as La Roja followed a perfect group stage with a 4-1 rout of first-time European Championship competitor Georgia on Sunday – although Georgia, the lowest-ranked team in the competition, did lead 1-0 just 18 minutes in on an own goal by Spain’s Robin Le Normand. Rodri (39th minute), Fabián Ruiz (51st), Nico Williams (75th) and Dani Olmo (83rd) had the Spain goals. The Spanish had a whopping 35 shots on goal vs. Georgia, their most at a major tournament on record since 1980. Lamine Yamal, who became the youngest player to ever feature in the knockout rounds at 16 years and 353 days old, also set up one of the goals. Yamal has become the first European teenager to assist two or more goals in a major tournament since Cristiano Ronaldo at Euro 2004.  Seven different players have scored so far at Euro 2024, but Ruiz is the lone Spaniard with two goals and but is +950 for another Saturday. Teammate Alvaro Morata is the overall +200 favourite and has a goal.

Germany

We previewed Germany’s Round of 16 matchup vs. Denmark and recommended the Germans to win and over 3.5 goals scored at +115. That was an easy victory as Germany prevailed 2-0 to remain unbeaten at Euro 2024 (one draw). Kai Havertz scored in the 53rd minute on a penalty shot and Jamal Musiala added the clincher in the 68th minute. He leads the Germans with three goals in this event, tied with a few others for the tournament lead. Musiala is +350 for an anytime goal in this match, behind teammates Havertz (two goals this year) and Niclaus Fullkrug (also two). Musiala’s three goals are more than he managed in 29 previous caps. Havertz is only the third German player to score two or more goals at two European Championships after Mario Gomez and Rudi Völler. Few teams can match Germany on the world stage yet that was its first major tournament knockout win in eight years after being ousted in the group stage at the last two World Cups and in the Euro 2020 last 16. This could be the last international match for 34-year-old German legend Toni Kroos as he retired from club football after winning the Champions League with Real Madrid last month and said he will do the same after this tournament for Germany. He is yet to score at Euro 2024.

Spain vs. Germany Prediction

If I have to choose a side to advance, I’ll take the Germans at home but my pick is both to score at -135.
