Liverpool vs. Real Madrid: UCL Preview, Betting Odds and Prediction

Los Blancos have nine points through three games, while Liverpool has two wins and one loss, yet both teams have scored eight goals in the competition.

Both teams enter this week of Champions League with wins in their last European and domestic competitions. This contest is one for the books, and it’s not even the knockout round, so prepare yourself for the Spanish giants of Real Madrid travelling to Anfield to clash with the English Champions, Liverpool, at 3 pm ET on Tuesday afternoon. Be sure to check out my predictions for the game below.

Liverpool vs. Real Madrid UCL Odds and Betting Trends

This matchup is a true classic, as both sides have played twice in the UEFA Champions League Final over the last seven years, with the Royal Whites taking home the trophy both times. However, the last time these squads met in the Champions League in November 2024, Liverpool came out on top with a 2-0 win.

In their last five meetings in the Champions League dating back to 2021, Real Madrid have won three times (with one draw), and Madrid will once again take a slight advantage on away grounds at +145 odds to win. On the soccer betting odds board, Liverpool is just slightly unfavoured at +155 due to their shaky form, with a draw set at +280.

Real Madrid

The La Liga leaders’ previous three games alone have been nothing less than impressive. Their latest Champions League bout against Juventus on October 22 ended victoriously 1-0, before the Royal Whites headed back to La Liga to see out a convincing 2-1 El Clásico win over Barcelona. Their most recent game over the weekend involved blasting four goals past Valencia in a shutout victory to extend their first-place gap over Barcelona to five points.

It is surely looking up for Madrid as they enter this one, with UCL leading goalscorer Kylian Mbappe (five goals) set to score anytime this match at +100, followed by Gonzalo Garcia at +205. However, the Reds won’t falter so easily, as they are on the uptick and will defend their home fortress.

Liverpool

Liverpool ended their four-game EPL losing streak with a vibrant 2-0 win over Aston Villa this past weekend, despite exiting the EFL Cup 3-0 to Crystal Palace on the 29th with their substitute squad. They are by no means going to roll over for Real Madrid, but they won their most recent Champions League matchup against Eintracht Frankfurt 5-1 on October 22.

The Reds will have a lot of work to do defensively before punishing Real Madrid on the press, allowing Florian Wirtz and Dominik Szoboszlai (two assists each) to thread a pass for their teammate to tuck away. The trio of Isak (+165), Ekitike (+160), and Salah (+185) are always on deck to score, and come in as the highest probable goal scorers for the English side.

UCL Prediction: Who Will Win Liverpool vs. Real Madrid?

Liverpool appears hopeful at Anfield in this one, but Real Madrid is a force to be reckoned with this season, with the likes of Mbappe, Garcia, and Vinicius Junior at the helm. The Reds, led by Virgil van Dijk, will need to hold strong at the back and look for counterattacking opportunities to strike.

Both squads have depth on the bench, and both sides are sure to find goals, which is why I’m predicting a 2-2 draw at the end of 90’ for this highly anticipated matchup.
