EPL Soccer Picks, Predictions and Best Bets: Liverpool looking to snap EPL losing skid
We’re almost a third of the way through the season, as teams return from their Carabao Cup fourth-round play to enter Matchweek 10 of the English Premier League.
Sunderland and Bournemouth are surprise teams in the top four spots, with Man United (fifth place) residing higher than Liverpool for the first time in quite a while.
This week, Tottenham and Chelsea clash for points, while Liverpool will most certainly seek redemption after a rough past few weeks. Erling Haaland continues his scoring streak for City in the Champions League, yet failed to score against Aston Villa over the weekend.
What more is in store for this week’s drama-filled EPL? Get the full rundown by reviewing my best bets and predictions for this weekend below.

EPL Tottenham vs. Chelsea best bet: Tottenham ML (+175)
Another London-based derby takes place Saturday afternoon with Tottenham playing Chelsea for the first time this season. Out of 157 historical matchups between these clubs, Chelsea reigns supreme with 72 wins to the Spurs’ 48.
Aside from the history, Tottenham has had an incredible season so far, sitting in third with 17 points. They find themselves at +175 to win Saturday at home, and with Richarlison leading the charge, it seems probable he could add to his current three-goal tally.
Chelsea will by no means roll over for this one. However, they fell to Sunderland 2-1 last weekend and just scraped by Wolves with a 4-3 win in the Carabao Cup. I expect the Spurs to come out on the front foot and take it to a Chelsea defence that is extremely suspect. Expect a 2-1 Tottenham win.
EPL Liverpool vs. Aston Villa best bet: Liverpool ML (-175)
Liverpool is as desperate as ever, as they enter Matchweek 10 of the EPL with four straight losses, dropping from a convincing first place to now seventh with 15 points. However, their talent is still solid, and two of their last three PL losses came to big clubs (Chelsea and Man United). Both Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike are marked to score anytime at +130 this weekend, and you can always put your faith in 2024 Golden Boot winner Mo Salah (+155). I think it’s about time the Reds pull through at Anfield for a significant win at -175.
While Aston Villa sits in eighth, tied with Liverpool (15), their form is the best in the Premier League right now – comparable only to Arsenal. If we look at their recent matches, the Lions ousted Tottenham 2-1 on October 19 and Man City 1-0 in their most recent match. They are in red-hot form with four straight league wins.
However, Liverpool is in a must-win scenario. After resting most of their starters in the Carabao Cup midweek, I’m predicting a convincing 2-0 win at the very least, which also hits the Liverpool -1.5 spread at +130 odds.
EPL best player prop bet: Erling Haaland Anytime Goalscorer (-155)
Last week, neither Haaland nor Antoine Semenyo scored, failing to add to their impressive goal tallies. However, even after a rough PL day for the Norwegian striker, he scored against Villarreal in the Champions League just three days later. He hasn’t let me down yet, and I expect him to find the back of the net at least once at home against Bournemouth with -155 odds.
