CF Montreal vs. Inter Miami: MLS Betting Odds, Prediction

It’s been far from a positive season in Montreal, but two wins in their previous three league matches has Le CFM on the verge of crawling out of the basement of the Eastern Conference. Saturday is a tough test against a Miami team that has just one road loss in league play this season.

Inter Miami is a +125 favourite to win on the MLS odds, while Montreal is a +175 underdog. A draw is listed at +275.

CF Montreal

Montreal is riding high after their first home win of the year, 1-0 over New York City CF last Saturday. Le CFM still has a lot of work ahead of them as they sit dead last in the Eastern Conference, three points behind Atlanta.

Montreal has led at the half four times this season, winning their last two games in that position. They have also allowed just one goal in the opening 45 minutes in their last three home fixtures, but have only scored five times in the first half at home this season.

A plethora of injuries impacted Montreal’s lineup against New York City FC. Among the players to miss action were Caden Clark (knee), Giacomo Vrioni (elbow), Jalen Neal (ankle) and Fabian Herbers (hamstring).

Joel Waterman is back from the CONCACAF Gold Cup, but he’ll be serving a yellow card suspension on Saturday. Guatemala’s Olger Escobar is also back from the tournament.

Inter Miami

You can be sure Miami is in a foul mood after they were bounced from the Club World Cup on Sunday with a 4-0 drubbing by reigning Champions League winners, and Lionel Messi’s former squad, PSG.

The Herons are now turning their attention back to the Supporters’ Shield with 11 points separating them from first place Philadelphia. That gap is misleading as Miami didn’t play an MLS game in the month of June because of the Club World Cup. Domestically, they’re coming off a stretch in May that saw them net three or more goals in five of seven MLS games.

There are a few players questionable from Miami’s side on Saturday. Gonzalo Lujan is dealing with an unknown issue, while Yannick Bright (muscle), Drake Callender (groin) and David Ruiz (strain) are also questionable.

It’s always a guess whether Messi will play when the Herons visits Canada. Messi torched Montreal for two goals and an assist in a 4-2 victory on May 28 when the teams last met. It’s been a week since Inter Miami lost to PSG, so head coach Javier Mascherano has already dismissed the idea of leaving Messi in Florida. That makes it very likely he’ll be in the starting XI on Saturday.
