Bayern Munich vs. Real Madrid Champions League odds, betting prediction

Real Madrid just completed a nightmare of a week, and it’s about to get worse.

After dropping points in La Liga yet again, Real travel to Allianz Arena to take on Bayern Munich in the second leg of their Champions League quarterfinal tie on Wednesday at 3:00 PM ET. Federico Valverde scored in a 1-1 draw with Girona that left Real nine points adrift of rivals Barcelona with seven games to play.

Bayern further solidified their lead at the top of the Bundesliga with a record-breaking 5-0 win over St. Pauli. The Bavarians have now scored 105 goals in league play, the most in Bundesliga history. They had two more in last week’s 2-1 first-leg victory over the Merengues at the Bernabeu. Harry Kane assisted on Luis Diaz’s first-half goal before scoring his 49th goal of the season, including his 11th in the Champions League, just after the break.

Kylian Mbappe tallied his Champions League-leading 14th of the campaign to tighten things up ahead of the return leg.

Only seven of 115 clubs who lost the first leg of a Champions League knockout tie as hosts ended up advancing. Bayern has advanced 12 times in 13 opportunities where it won on the road in the first leg.

Bayern Munich vs. Real Madrid Odds and Betting Trends

As expected, Bayern are solid favourites at -188. Real Madrid sits at +375, with the draw available at +425. The total sits at 3.5 goals, with -138 to the over and +110 on the under.

Kane, who has six goals in his last four appearances, is -250 to score or assist on a goal, followed by Michael Olise at -200 and Luis Diaz at -188.

Bayern Munich

Kane is one goal shy of breaking last season’s personal record for goals in the Champions League. He has 11, and 49 overall, in yet another standout campaign.

Olise was arguably the best player on the pitch last week, and he was one of five Bayern scorers on the weekend against St. Pauli while Kane rested on the bench. Bayern are unbeaten (13-0-2) in 15 matches across all competitions, and have not lost in 81 days. Last week’s victory over Real ended a nine-game winless streak against the Merengues.

This is a healthy squad, as only reserve goalkeeper Sven Ulrich is listed as out.

Real Madrid

Real is going into tomorrow’s contest shorthanded in a couple of areas.

Aurelien Tchouameni is suspended after yellow card accumulation, while goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois (thigh) and Rodrygo (knee) are out. Dani Ceballos (thigh) is questionable to play.

Look for Englishman Jude Bellingham to play, who sparked Real when he came on in the second half last week. Real has won the last four two-legged ties against Bayern Munich in the Champions League, but the Merengues are winless (0-2-1) in three straight games for just the second time all season.

Mbappe is three goals away from tying former Real Madrid legend Cristiano Ronaldo’s 2013-14 Champions League record of 17.

Who Will Win Bayern Munich vs. Real Madrid?

This tie is nowhere near over. What gets buried in last week’s game narrative is that Bayern keeper Manuel Neuer had to make nine saves to preserve the 2-1 victory. Those are high school stats for a goalie.

Real is not going anywhere. Look for the Mernegues to pull off a stunner against perhaps the best team in the world right now by winning 2-1 in regulation, forcing penalties and then advancing.
