Austria vs. North Macedonia Predictions: Euro 2020 Betting Odds

This tournament was actually scheduled to take place during 2020 but the COVID-19 pandemic pushed it back a year. These two clubs will be kicking off on June 13th and will feature a brand-new competitor in North Macedonia as well as a regular in the tournament with Austria.

Austria doesn’t normally make a lot of noise in these types of tournaments but this should be a game they win.

Austria

Austria has put together a decent lineup for the tournament but that talent wasn’t leading to wins during their European qualifiers. They were 6-1-3 in Group G, which isn’t bad, but it’s not as if they were in a group with France and Germany. They were in a group with Latvia, North Macedonia, Israel and Slovenia.

There is still reason for hope in this Austria team moving forward. Their newly picked up defender David Alaba is bound to make a positive impact for the team in this upcoming game. Not only has Alaba functioned as a leader for Austria, he has also been able to get the most out of other players on the roster like Christoph Baumgartner and Marcel Sabitzer.

At the end of the day, they are very experienced as a whole and many analysts have them competing for the top spot in their group. They scored 19 goals and allowed just nine in qualifying. North Macedonia had a -1 goal differential, so this will be a spot where Austria is expected to win.

North Macedonia

North Macedonia is just one of the two nations that are in the European Championship for the very first time. The team has performed far better than many imagined under their leader Igor Angelovski, ending the 2020 year in third place in the qualifiers for their group. This team doesn’t have many household names but they do have a key leader in Goran Pandev.

North Macedonia has a decent group of strikers who all mesh well together to form an aggressive offensive scheme. The challenge is that their goals have come against weak foes and they’ve struggled against the better teams. That goes to show that they’re simply not at the level of quality that they’ll need to be at to make any serious noise in this tournament. In their two games against the Group G winners (Poland and Austria), North Macedonia was outscored 5-1. In their other three games, they outscored their opponents 6-2. We’ll see if they can do any better against Austria this time around.

Austria vs. North Macedonia Prediction:
