In fact, neither side is anywhere close to securing a postseason spot. Toronto comes in with 22 points – two better than Atlanta. The home team has one fewer win but two more draws than the Reds.

This marks the second head-to-head matchup of the season between these two conference rivals. They previously squared off on July 12 in Toronto, playing to a 1-1 draw.

Atlanta is a -175 favourite to win on the MLS odds, while Toronto is a +380 underdog and a draw is priced at +320.

Atlanta United vs. Toronto FC Betting Trends

Atlanta is a sizeable favourite on the three-way money line, which can be attributed entirely to home-field advantage. The Five Stripes are priced at -175, while Toronto is a +380, and a draw checks in at +320. The game total is set at 2.5, with the Over juiced to -175 and the Under bringing in a payout of +120 if it cashes.

Something will have to give on Sunday, because these two clubs bring very different styles of play to the table. Atlanta’s games feature offence, offence, and more offence. Seven of its previous eight outings have produced at least four goals. Toronto, on the other hand, generally competes in defensive slogs. The Reds have played six consecutive contests with no more than two goals scored.

Toronto FC

Finding the back of the net has been a problem for Toronto. Head coach Robin Fraser’s men have scored just one goal in each of the past two games, and this stretch was preceded by back-to-back shutout losses (1-0 against Nashville and 2-0 against Charlotte). Nobody on Toronto’s active roster has more than 6 points in 2025. Leading goal scorer Theo Corbeanu (five goals and one assist) has only one point in his last eight outings.

The club announced on Wednesday that midfielder Deybi Flores has been transferred to Al-Najma SC of the Saudi Pro League. Flores made 58 appearances for Toronto across the past two seasons.

Atlanta United

There may not be a whole lot to like about Atlanta, but head coach Ronny Deila’s club does have one thing going for it this weekend – and it could be a decisive factor, too. Whereas the Five Stripes have not won a single game on the road this season, they own four victories at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. They have taken points in nine of 13 home contests, while they are winless on the road, recording five draws and eight losses.

Last week, Atlanta sold defender Derrick Williams to England’s League One club Reading FC. Williams joined his MLS club in January 2024 and started 48 of his 51 appearances. His absence won’t help a team that already didn’t boast a ton of defensive depth.

MLS Prediction: Who Will Win Atlanta United vs. Toronto FC?

Atlanta is by no means the toughest of opponents, but the visitors have their work cut out for them in this situation. They could not even beat the Five Stripes in Toronto, instead forced to settle for a draw earlier in the season. Now they have to head south to be the road team in what is one of MLS’ best environments in Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Don’t be surprised if Atlanta takes care of business at home and comes away with a 2-1 victory. However, it’s hard to have much faith in either side given each one’s lacklustre season-long efforts. The best value is on Over 2.5 goals.
