Germany’s 0-1 loss to Mexico throws a wrench into the predicted finish in Group F. The defending World Cup winners are now just -300 to qualify to the knockout stages while Sweden and South Korea saw their odds improve to +162 and +400.

Sweden scored 26 goals and allowed nine in their 10 World Cup qualifying matches. They tighten things up and beat out Italy for a place in Russia by shutting out the Azzurri over a two-leg playoff. The Blue-Yellow scored just three times in their last four friendlies leading up to the World Cup.

South Korea grabbed one of the 32 places in Russia despite a lackluster performance in their qualification round. The Taegeuk Warriors won just four of their 10 matches and finished with just a +1 goal differential.

Russia scored five goals on the first day of the World Cup but the opening match hasn’t been a true reflection of the tournament’s first four days of action. Eight of the first 11 matches have had two or fewer goals scored in them. The under 2.5 goals is priced at -233 at Sports Interaction’s World Cup match odds between South Korea and Sweden.

Sweden

He’s not as talented as some of his teammates but Marcus Berg has been an efficient finisher for Sweden in recent years. The 31-year-old striker scored 16 goals in 11 qualifying matches for Sweden. He’s priced at +159 to score anytime during the match and is the favourite to score the first goal at +414.

South Korea

Son Heung-min is South Korea’s best weapon and he’s proven to be a difficult man to mark for Spurs in the Premier League. He plays best on the wing and he’s a threat to score on counter attacks. Sports Interaction has him at +276 to score at any time during the match.

Sweden vs. South Korea Prediction

Sweden 1, South Korea 0

There isn’t another upset in the cards a day after Group F favourites Germany fell to Mexico. Look for the chalk to walk on Monday.
