Toronto FC vs. Colorado Rapids: MLS Preview and Prediction
The Colorado Rapids have the edge on goal differential, but Toronto FC takes home-field advantage in this one.
Don’t miss out on Saturday afternoon’s MLS skirmish at BMO Field, Toronto, at 1 pm ET.
Toronto FC vs. Colorado Rapids MLS Odds and Betting Trends
These sides will face off for the 22nd time in all competitions. In their last five MLS matches against each other, the Rapids have won twice and Toronto has won just once, in addition to two draws in the mix. The Rapids won the most recent matchup 2-0 in September 2024.
Toronto edges the odds for this one as -105 favourites, with the Rapids coming in as +245 challengers. A draw, which has only occurred four times ever in this fixture, is set at +255. As for the total, an over 2.5 is more likely to occur at -140 than the under 2.5 at +110.
Toronto FC
Toronto FC is doing quite well results-wise, even after suffering a 3-2 season opener loss to Dallas, followed by a 3-0 defeat to Vancouver – both on the road. They beat Cincinnati and Columbus by one goal, with only one draw coming from a 1-1 scoreline against the NY Red Bulls. They are seventh in the East, much like their Colorado counterparts, although the side has only netted six goals this season. Toronto truly needs a standout goalscorer to surface in due time to prevent the overwhelming number of draws from last season and close out games with a win.
Twenty-six-year-old American Josh Sargent enters the match as the highest probable goalscorer at +175, having yet to score his first goal after two games played. Daniel Salloi has a third of the team’s goal count with two to his name, as he comes in set to score at +215. Teammate midfielder Djordje Mihailovic is priced at +200 after scoring just one goal in the first match of the season.
Colorado Rapids
The Rapids prepare for their eighth match of the 2026 season after winning three games so far, achieving their last victory after dealing a crushing 4-1 result to Sporting KC. The matchup was the team’s second 4-1 win since downing the LA Galaxy on March 7, although on March 14, they suffered their second loss of the season to NYCFC. The Rapids have lost two of their three road games so far, but have still managed to score five goals in those matchups – 11 overall – which is the second-highest goal tally in the MLS.
Forward Rafael Navarro stands out as the team’s highest probable goalscorer at +185 while leading the way with three goals this season – three in his last three games. Teammates Darren Yapi and Paxten Aaronson take the team’s next highest anytime goalscoring spot at +330 and +450 odds, respectively, after netting two goals each so far this season. The Rapids have a solid foundation, but will need to overcome the nerves of playing on away grounds to be successful throughout the year.
MLS Prediction: Who Will Win Toronto FC vs. Colorado Rapids?
While Toronto has a clear home-pitch advantage, they have one draw and one single-goal margin win at home so far this season, so this will be close. Last year, the side ended the regular season with the highest number of draws (14), and with their team achieving such close results without standout goalscorers, it’s fair to assume more draws will be coming their way.
The Rapids are looking much better than they were last season, although they’ve only got one away win out of three games against last-place Sporting KC. They will surely do some damage with their offensive talents, Navarro, Aaronson, and Yapi, but given Toronto’s tendencies to sit back in all their games, especially home ones, I like this one to end 1-1.
