Colorado Rapids vs. Inter Miami MLS odds and prediction
The MLS returns this weekend with an endless schedule of matches on the itinerary, including an exciting cross-conference showdown between the Colorado Rapids and Inter Miami. Both teams sit at 12 points in their respective conferences, but it’s the Rapids with the most goals in the MLS so far, making this bout one you won’t want to miss.
Watch an exhilarating kickoff take place at Empower Field at 4:30 PM ET tomorrow when two talented teams clash for MLS Week 8.
Colorado Rapids vs. Inter Miami MLS Odds and Betting Trends
This will be the second-ever fixture between Colorado and Miami after their single match played in April 2024 ended in a 2-2 draw at Chase Stadium. There’s not much history between these clubs, but both display vast offensive capabilities, which means we’re likely to see plenty of goals here.
While the Colorado Rapids are playing mighty well, piling in goals this season, they are +6000 underdogs to win the MLS Cup. Meanwhile, last year’s champions in Miami lead the way at +420. Despite being the road team in this fixture, Inter Miami comes in as solid -120 favourites on the MLS odds board, while the Rapids find themselves set to win at +240. If you expect another draw, you can get that at +310.
Inter Miami
Inter Miami still hasn’t lost a game since their season opener to LAFC, as they reside in third place in the East with three wins and three draws. However, they’re still adjusting to personnel changes from last season and have drawn their last two games – both at home – 2-2 to Austin FC and the New York Red Bulls. In fact, five of their last six matches across all competitions have ended in draws. Moreover, Miami has gone four straight matches with at least one goal and three straight with at least two.
Lionel Messi is at the helm for this one as always, set to score at -155 with five goals in six games already this season. Teammates German Berterame (+185) and Luis Suarez (+185) follow up their Argentine captain with a goal a piece so far, while youngster Mateo Silvetti enters the fray set to score at +265 with two to his name.
Colorado Rapids
The Rapids return to MLS action after a narrow 1-0 victory over Union Omaha in the US Open Cup Round of 32 on Tuesday. So far, the team leads the league with 19 goals, but has suffered three losses to Sounders, NYCFC and Toronto FC. They haven’t played incredibly challenging teams in their last three MLS matches, but they managed to tuck away a whopping combined 13 goals in that span, heavily influenced by their 6-2 win over the Houston Dynamo last Saturday and a 4-1 win over Sporting KC on March 21.
Colorado’s Rafael Navarro rivals Messi’s goal tally with five under his belt this season so far, including a brace in his last game against the Dynamo. He’s expected to tuck away one or more against Miami at +145. Elsewhere, forward Darren Yapi is looking for his third of the year, as the 21-year-old heads to Empower Field priced at +280 to score anytime.
MLS Prediction: Who Will Win Colorado Rapids vs. Inter Miami?
Inter Miami are undefeated in eight games in all competitions despite five of these results being draws and two of them influencing a 1–1 aggregate exit from the Concacaf Champions Cup. However, at least they aren’t being outscored by the opposition.
Both teams are sure to score, and given that they’re two of the highest-scoring clubs in the MLS, in addition to the fact that their only match against each other previously ended with four goals, the over 3.5 is certainly a sensible choice. In the end, though, I think Miami will get back on the winning track with a 3-2 victory here. When Messi plays determined footy, there’s really no stopping him.
