CF Montreal vs. Orlando City MLS Preview and Prediction
Montreal’s rollercoaster of a season continues as they defend their honour this weekend against a hungry Orlando City SC side. Orlando is in 13th in the East and one point clear of Montreal, but the Canadian side has a game in hand.
A win for either side could leapfrog them into the top nine, so don’t miss out on kickoff Saturday at 4:30 p.m. ET.
CF Montreal vs. Orlando City MLS Odds and Betting Trends
Orlando City beat Montreal for the 11th time in 28 meetings when they closed out a 2-1 home victory in March. Montreal’s last win against the Lions came in May of 2023, which ended a three-game winning streak in the fixture. Seven draws have come out of this matchup in total, with four in their last six matchups – two of which ended scoreless.
While Orlando came out with a big upset over Miami last match, they are +240 contenders on the road on Saturday, while Montreal is a favourite at -110 on the MLS odds. A draw is priced at +280, with under 3.5 goals likely at -170.
CF Montreal
Montreal have had an intriguing start to the 2026 MLS season, beating teams like the New York Red Bulls (twice) and NYCFC while losing to Atlanta and Philadelphia. The Canadian side sparked a two-game win streak from April 18 to April 25, adding five goals to their season tally of 14, but their form quickly dropped with a 3-1 loss to Atlanta at the start of this month. Oddly enough, Montreal have only recorded 14 goals this season, yet their goal differential is better than Orlando’s.
Montreal’s Prince Owusu could be a vital component for the Canadian squad Saturday, as he boasts the shortest goalscorer odds at -110 with six to his name this season. Teammate Daniel Rios has yet to score, although he’s priced at +100 to do so, followed by Ivan Jaime at +245 – Montreal’s striker with just one goal to show for in the competition.
Orlando City
While Orlando City aren’t the worst team record-wise in the Eastern Conference, they’ve already allowed 32 goals – the most in the MLS – with the second-worst goal differential (-16) in the league. Surprisingly, the Lions took out their Inter Miami rivals 4-3 on away grounds to prove their natural goalscoring ability, as they’ve seemingly turned a new leaf at this point of the season – posting a 2-1-2 result in their last five. Given their recent trends and victory over Miami, the Lions are beginning to show signs of reaching their level from last season, which resulted in a ninth-place playoff spot.
Ten of the team’s 16 goals came in just the last three matches, with crucial players like Martin Ojeda scoring a hat trick against Inter Miami. As such, he is the most likely to score or Orlando City at +200. Meanwhile, the Lions’ six-foot-one forward Duncan McGuire will need to turn up his efforts and add to his one goal this season at +260 odds.
MLS Prediction: Who Will Win CF Montreal vs. Orlando City?
Looking at raw stats, Orlando are horrendous in terms of goals allowed, but in actuality, much of their struggles came throughout March – where the side saw 21 goals enter the back of their net in five combined games. However, in their last three, they’ve only allowed seven while scoring 10, which excludes their spectacular recent performance in the US Open Cup against the Revs.
Montreal lost to New England on April 4 by three goals without answer, while conceding three goals to Atlanta. The Canadians truly struggle to score in most league games, with just seven in their last five.
With these factors considered, taking Orlando City as moneyline underdogs at +240 seems like a high-value choice overall, with a potential 3-2 victory on the horizon for the Lions.
