2026/27 MLS Season Odds, Futures Preview and Predictions
The MLS returns this Saturday after one of the most successful seasons to date. The Vancouver Whitecaps made history, appearing in their first-ever MLS Cup Final, but they fell short against Lionel Messi and Inter Miami, who won their first-ever MLS Cup trophy. Messi also broke the record for most assists in a single MLS game, proving there’s always a new heightened expectation for every MLS season.
LA Galaxy still has the most MLS Cups (six), while both D.C. United and the Galaxy share the record for most Supporters’ Shields (four). In the last five years, Inter Miami, LAFC, and the Columbus Crew have been the most successful, with Miami and LAFC both winning one Supporters’ Shield and MLS Cup, and the Columbus Crew leading with two MLS Cups.

2026/27 MLS Season Odds
Sports Interactions’ latest odds show that Inter Miami is once again the most likely to take the MLS Cup. LAFC is next up on the list (+600), while the Whitecaps come in on third (+900). Last season’s Supporters’ Shield winners, the Philadelphia Union, are a bit lower on the list (+1400), but they should be right back in the mix with a recycled squad. FC Cincinnati (+1400) and NYCFC (+2000) are also up for contention for the trophy, both with several new players departing and joining. Here are the odds:
- Inter Miami +400
- Los Angeles FC +600
- Vancouver Whitecaps +900
- San Diego FC +1200
- Philadelphia Union +1400
- FC Cincinnati +1400
- Los Angeles Galaxy +1800
- Seattle Sounders +2000
- New York City FC +2000
- Columbus Crew +2000
The Union has won the Supporters’ Shield twice in the last six years while being runner-up once, and were runner-up for the MLS Cup in 2022, proving to be one of the most consistent in the last decade outside of LAFC. Inter Miami lost both Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba and will need to rely on new talent to repeat last year’s success. FC Cincinnati were the best Supporters’ Shield contenders in the last three years (one trophy and one runner-up), with NYCFC winning their last MLS Cup in 2021.
2026/27 MLS Cup Winner Best Bet: Inter Miami +400
Inter Miami and Lionel Messi were brilliant last season as the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner finished with the highest number of both goals (29) and assists (19) in the regular season, all at the age of 37. The Herons also led the MLS with the most goals in the regular season at 81, 13 higher than the next highest, the Chicago Fire. Benjamin Cremaschi and Tomas Aviles are young aspiring talents who return from loan, along with Taedo Allende, Mateo Silvetti, and Rodrigo de Paul, coming back for another season. With Inter Miami led by the world’s best player once again, it shouldn’t matter that Alba and Busquets are gone, as new talent will be invigorated to play with the maestro of Messi.
Only the Seattle Sounders have won the MLS Cup trophy twice in the last 10 years, with every other winner being different than the last. The LA Galaxy was the last team to repeat as MLS Cup champions in 2011 and 2012. Inter Miami could be the next to do the same for the first time in 15 years at +400 odds.
2026/27 MLS Cup Winner Long Shot Prediction: New England Revolution +6500
The New England Revolution have been runner-up for the MLS Cup five separate times, reaching the final for three consecutive seasons from 2005 to 2007. The last time they were in a final was 2014, and they even won the Supporters’ Shield in 2021. They managed to improve their -37 goal differential from the 2024-25 season immensely in 2025-26, and if they do so again, they’ll be a top Eastern Conference contender.
U.S. international goalkeeper Matt Turner returns after his loan from Lyon ends, while Carles Gil still leads the Revs’ midfield at 33 years old with 10 goals and nine assists last year. They do have two players returning from loan, but the right new signing could make a major difference. Consistency will be key, and the Revs need to focus on qualifying for the playoffs this season to make a statement. If they do, there’s a sliver of hope to take home their first-ever MLS Cup trophy at +6500 odds, but it’s one heck of a long shot.
