Atletico Madrid vs. Barcelona La Liga odds and score prediction

Atlético Madrid hosts league leaders Barcelona in a premium La Liga clash Saturday at 3:00 PM ET at the Metropolitano. The match also serves as a preview of their upcoming Champions League quarter-final matchup, with the first leg at Camp Nou on Wednesday.

Atlético currently sits fourth in the La Liga standings, and comes into this tie on the back of some mixed results, including a 3-2 defeat at the Bernabeu to Real Madrid in a derby thriller. Diego Simeone’s side remains dangerous at home but faces a midfield crisis due to injuries.

Barcelona leads La Liga by a mere four points over Real Madrid, but are unbeaten (7-0-1) in its last eight across all competitions.

Hansi Flick’s side suffered a serious blow over the international break when star winger Raphinha picked up a hamstring injury that will sideline him for around five weeks.

Atletico Madrid vs. Barcelona Odds and Betting Trends

Barcelona is 7-2-1 in the last 10 matches in this series, including a dominating 3-0 victory over Atleti in the Copa del Rey last month.

The Blaugranas enter Saturday’s match as +115 favourites on the soccer odds board, while Atlético Madrid sits at +210 and the draw at +280.

The over/under is set at 2.5 goals, with the over slightly favoured due to both teams’ attacking quality. Barcelona have won 4 of their last 6 La Liga meetings with Atlético, but Simeone’s side are routinely tough to break down at home.

Atletico Madrid

Atleti head into this match with several concerns. Key midfielder Pablo Barrios is sidelined with a thigh injury, while goalkeeper Jan Oblak is doubtful with a muscle issue.

Defender Marc Pubill (rib) and midfielder Johnny Cardoso (muscle) are also questionable, while Alexander Sørloth is a doubt after a head injury and Marcos Llorente is suspended. These absences leave Simeone short in midfield and defence, forcing potential tactical adjustments.

On the positive side, Antoine Griezmann and Julian Alvarez, who have combined for 14 La Liga goals, remain in strong form, providing creativity and goals.

Atlético have been solid at home, but have lost their last two games overall. Simeone will likely set up in a compact shape and look to counter quickly.

Barcelona

Raphina suffered a right hamstring injury during Brazil’s friendly against France and is expected to be out for around five weeks. This is a significant blow to Barca’s attacking width.

Midfielder Frenkie de Jong is also ruled out for this weekend due to his ongoing recovery from a hamstring problem. However, Jules Koundé and Alejandro Balde are nearing full fitness and could feature.

Teen sensation Lamine Yamal, who has 14 goals and nine assists in La Liga, Robert Lewandowski, and Pedri all provide plenty of threat.

Hansi Flick’s side have been dominant this season but must be wary of Atlético’s intense pressing and set-piece danger at the Metropolitano.

La Liga Prediction: Who Will Win Atletico Madrid vs. Barcelona?

It’s hard to go against the surging Blaugranas, who can smell the run-in for both the La Liga crown and the Champions League.

However, Atleti have won six straight at home and would love to draw first blood in the first of three matches between the teams over the next 10 days.

Look for Atleti to sneak a point out of this match, taking advantage of its friendly confines for a 2-2 draw.
