The teams meet up in a Group C matchup on Wednesday evening in Miami at 6 p.m. ET.

The match closes the group stage for two sides with massively different aspirations. The Brazilians are looking for their first title since 2002, while the Scots, who have been eliminated in the group stage in each of their previous eight World Cup appearances, are simply trying to keep the party going a few days more.

Matheus Cunha had a brace while Vinicius Junior added his second goal of the tournament, all in the first half, as Brazil defeated Haiti in its last match, 3-0.

Scotland also defeated the Haitians, 1-0, but fell to Morocco, 1-0, in its last match on a second-minute winner from 2025/26 Eredivisie Player of the Year Ismael Saibari.

The Scots drew Brazil in their last two World Cup appearances, in 1994 and 1998, and lost both matches. The Brazilians are 4-0-1 against Scotland in the World Cup all-time.

Scotland FIFA World Cup odds and news

The Tartan Army was ubiquitous in Boston over the past week, and bagpipes have been playing in Miami, but these are not ideal conditions for coach Steve Clarke’s side. It is going to be hot and humid at Hard Rock Stadium against a Brazilian side determined to stay ahead of Morocco in the race to win Group C.

John McGinn scored against Haiti, but the team has just two shots on target through two matches. Unfortunately, that means Clarke will most likely need to employ a defensive shield in front of goalkeeper Angus Gunn.

Scotland is currently still listed at -500 to qualify for the knockout stage, so limiting the damage on Wednesday evening is paramount.

Celtic’s Kieran Tierney limped off in the 60th minute against Morocco, but that was just a cramp. Cramping could be a major issue for the team overall in Miami.

Brazil FIFA World Cup odds and news

Coach Carlo Ancelotti’s side has four points after two matches and wants to stay ahead of Morocco on goal differential, as both are expected to win. The big news for the Brazilians is that 34-year-old Neymar Junior, who was unavailable for the first two matches with a calf injury and hasn’t played for the country in nearly three years, is tipped to play against Scotland. Whether he starts or comes off the bench will be up to Ancelotti.

On the flip side, Barcelona’s Raphinha picked up a hamstring injury against Haiti and had to exit before halftime. Bournemouth teenager Rayan replaced him in that match and could get the start against Scotland.

Casemiro, who just signed with Inter Miami, may not play in front of his new home fans, as he is on a yellow card, with former Liverpool stalwart Fabinho a possibility to replace him in the middle.

The Brazilians, at +1300, currently have the seventh-best odds to win it all. They are +300 to reach the semifinals, but +375 to exit after the quarterfinals, something they’ve done in the past two World Cups.

Scotland vs. Brazil player odds and props

Angus Gunn has made only two saves combined against Haiti and Morocco. With Scotland most likely in Park the Bus mode, look for him to be considerably more active. He is +135 to make 5+ saves.

Vinicius Junior and Matheus Cunha, both with two goals in the tournament, are battling to lead the team. Junior is +135 to score against Scotland and +110 to lead Brazil in scoring at the World Cup. Cunha is +150 to score against the Scots and +135 to lead the team.

World Cup 2026 bracket and futures

Brazil is the -210 favourite to hold off the Moroccans and win the group, while Scotland is -500 to qualify for the knockout stage. With Haiti poised to lose again on Wednesday, odds of Scotland finishing bottom of Group C are off the board.

Scotland vs. Brazil score prediction

The Tartan Army deserves another match. North America would love to have them positively invade another city in the coming days. But that will depend on the goal differential, because Brazil is winning this match, 2-0.
