Norway vs. France Prediction: FIFA World Cup Odds, Betting Picks
Norway, one of the feel-good stories through two rounds of the group stage, will face a true litmus test when it takes on World Cup favourite France on Friday at Boston Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, at 3 p.m. ET.
These two sides are the only ones meeting up in the group finale with six points apiece. They’ve both already advanced, but with Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe recording braces in each of their first two respective matches, don’t look for either side to hit the brakes.
France is trying to reach the World Cup final for the third straight time, while Norway is looking to make a comparative Cinderella run.

Norway FIFA World Cup Odds and News
The Norwegians are making some noise in their first World Cup appearance since 1998. Much of that is thanks to, as expected, Erling Haaland’s power and poise up top. The Manchester City superstar has a brace in both matches. He’ll beat you with power. He’ll beat you with skill. He’ll beat you with guile. And then he’ll smile, hug some teammates, and go Zen.
Haaland has 24 goals in his last 12 international games, with at least one goal in every match. Arsenal’s Martin Odegaard is the man behind Haaland springing him on long and through balls.
Coach Shale Solbakken should only have one or two moves to make with the starting lineup. Most notably, he’ll need to replace Julian Ryerson, who left in the 13th minute of Norway’s 3-2 victory over Senegal. Ryerson’s replacement, Marcus Pederson, scored in the 43rd minute and should get the starting nod.
Norway has the ninth-shortest odds to win the World Cup at +3000. Haaland has the third-shortest odds to win the Golden Boot, behind Argentina’s Lionel Messi (+180) and Mbappe (+210). The stars have certainly put on a show in the group stage.
France FIFA World Cup Odds and News
For a side whose only goal this tournament is to win it all, the French show no signs of choking. Sure, there have been some disappointing halves, but Les Bleus are patient, knowing their ridiculous wealth of talent has come through time and again in recent years.
Mbappe is obviously special. While Messi was getting his rightful accolades after setting the career World Cup goals scored mark, Mbappe has put himself in a position to perhaps steal that crown ahead of 2030.
The discussion was that, if Mbappe did not steal the show again this World Cup, then it would be Ousmane Dembele, the reigning Ballon d’Or winner, or Michael Olise, Bayern Munich’s splendid multi-threat, who would do so. Both have made their cases. Dembele had a goal and an assist in the win over Senegal, while Olise has three combined assists in two matches.
Since Spain’s shaky showing against Cape Verde, the French have been the odds-on favourite to win it all.
Norway vs. France Player Odds and Props
Fancy a goal or assist? Mbappe is -105, Dembele is +175, and Olise is +225 to score a goal on Friday. Olise is also +240 to get an assist for the third straight game.
Haaland is +140 to score an anytime goal for Norway. Goalkeeper Orjan Nyland is -150 to make 4+ saves, and +150 to make 5+ saves.
World Cup 2026 Bracket and Futures
France is -575 to win Group I, with Norway +380. Le Bleus hold the goal differential advantage for now, so all they need is a draw on Friday.
Norway vs. France Score Prediction
This should be a banger, and don’t expect the Norwegians to come in intimidated, especially with Haaland galloping around the back line. We’re going to take France, but just by a hair, 3-2.
