Rob Gronkowski at Wrestlemania: Championship Odds, Predictions
Rob Gronkowski seems to be everywhere these days; from launching parties, appearing on award shows, being the mystery guest on reality shows and now signing a contract with World Wrestling Entertainment.
Earlier in March, the former three-time Super Bowl champion signed a contract with the WWE and made his debut on the March 20 episode of Smackdown.
Gronk is now set to host Wrestlemania 36 but will that be his only responsibility at Wrestling’s Super Bowl?
Currently at Sports Interaction there are two very intriguing propositions involving Gronkowski and they both have opened the eyes of the wrestling world.
WWE/Universal Champion
Will Gronk become the WWE or Universal Champion? The answer “no” to that prop is paying a massive number on the Sports Interaction site, so what are his chances?
Now, Gronkowski isn’t scheduled to battle in any one of the main events for those titles, and it’s safe to say he isn’t at that level of competition. However, could there be a scenario in the script that sees the former Patriots Tight End get an opportunity as an added opponent to one of the top matches?
WWE Intercontinental or US Champ
Currently the US Championship is held by Manuel Alfonso Andrade Oropeza, while Sami Zayn won the Intercontinental Championship a couple weeks back on March 8. Both of these titles will be up for grabs and both opponents are not Rob Gronkowski.
Challenges and unscheduled matches is something that happens on a very regular basis in the world of professional wrestling. Could we see a scenario where one of these champions picks a fight with Gronk and he accepts?
My Prediction
When looking into my crystal ball it is rather unclear exactly how Gronkowski could win any of these four championships, especially considering he’s not scheduled to wrestle any of these wrestlers. But as the old saying goes, anything can happen in the WWE.
One fact we do know is that Owner/Chairman Vince McMahon loves crossovers athletes and even more so loves to steal a headline. Considering we are living in a world where almost all sports are not active, McMahon and the WWE have an opportunity to steal the Monday Sports headlines across the world. Putting an Intercontinental Championship belt around the waist of a former football hero might be where they are headed during this event.
