NHL Odds and Betting Analysis
The Jets enter this game on a five game winning streak against the Stars, outscoring them 26-10 over the period. Since 2015, the two teams have met 14 times, with the Jets winning eight of them. The home team in this head to head series is 5-1 in the last six meetings. Also, the Over is 4-0 in the last four meetings.
Winnipeg Jets
The Jets had their season high four game winning streak come to a halt with an overtime loss to the Canadiens on Saturday night. In that game, the team blow a two goal third period lead on home ice. Goaltender Connor Hellebuyck was hung out to dry, as the Jets allowed 50 shots on goal in the loss. It will be interesting to see which goaltender gets the nod for this one against the Stars, but signs point to veteran Steve Mason getting the call. Mason hasn’t played a game since Oct. 27 and is still in search for his first win as a member of the Winnipeg Jets (0-3-1). One positive to take out of the loss to the Canadiens is that the team scored three power-play goals, and is now ranked seventh overall in that category with a 23.3 percentage.
Dallas Stars
The Stars enter this game with an 8-6 record, and are coming off arguably their best performance on the season Saturday night. The team struck for four first period goals in the victory over the Sabres. John Klingberg recorded three assists in the win, and continues to have an outstanding season with 14 points in 14 games. Speaking of outstanding, back-up goaltender Kari Lehtonen stopped 27 shots to chalk up the win. But, expect the Stars to start Ben Bishop in this match-up with the Jets. Bishop has a goals against of 2.66, and save percentage of .913 with the Stars this year, and hasn’t quite lived up to expectations after joining the club in the off season.
