Back on Oct. 17, the Blue Jackets handed the Jets a 5-2 loss in Winnipeg and now the visiting side wants revenge in this final game between to two teams this season.

These two teams have met nine times since the 2013-14 season with the Jets enjoying a 6-3 record head to head. The Blue Jackets have faced the Jets 11 times at Nationwide Arena, with the home side winning five of those games. Overall, the two franchises have met 23 times all-time, with the Jackets holding a slight edge 12-11.

Winnipeg Jets

This is the first back to back game of the season for the Winnipeg Jets, who are coming off a 2-1 overtime loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins Thursday night where the team was outshot 36-31. Josh Morrissey got the only Jets goal in the setback. The team has struggled in both goals allowed (3.4 gpg) ranked 24th, and shots allowed (34.8 spg) tied for 27th overall. They are hopeful veteran Steve Mason can get on track as he’s is expected to get the start against the team that drafted him back in 2006. Mason is in search of his first win of the season and also first win as a member of the Winnipeg Jets. He was the goaltender of record in the loss to the Blue Jackets earlier this month.

Columbus Blue Jackets

The Blue Jackets have a chance to set a franchise record for points in the first 10 games of the season with a win Friday night. They currently have 12 points (6-3) through the first nine games, tying a record back in 2007-08. The club is coming off a 5-1 win over the Buffalo Sabres Wednesday night. Sergei Bobrovsky, made 34 saves on 35 shots against the Sabres and is expected to start for Columbus.  The Jackets are lighting the lamp as of late, scoring four or more goals in four of their past five games – including three five-goal games. Of note, the Blue Jackets have yet to allow a power-play goal on home ice this season. They’re 10-for-10, including 1-for-1 against the Sabres on Wednesday.
