Philadelphia Flyers at Tampa Bay Lightning (-120. 5.5)

After struggling through a four-game losing streak on the road, the Tampa Bay Lightning bounced back with a big 5-0 home win over the New York Rangers. Martin St. Louis picked up two goals and three points in his 1000th NHL game and now leads the club with 24 points in 24 games. That’s the sort of scoring clip Tampa Bay needs him to keep pace as Steven Stamkos watches on from the press box – especially tonight against the Flyers. Philadelphia has won six of its last eight, with one overtime loss included in there. During that stretch the Flyers have scored at least four goals in five of those games and could force Tampa Bay into a trackmeet tonight.

Pick: Over 5.5 goals

Phoenix Coyotes at Minnesota Wild (-135, 5)

A three-game losing streak has sparked a major change for the Phoenix Coyotes, who placed veteran defenceman Rostislav Klesla on waivers Tuesday. Klesla used to be one of the team’s most stable rearguards, but has struggled in his own end at times this year. That said, it wouldn’t be shocking to see another club put in a claim for his services. It also wouldn’t be shocking to see the Coyotes get the message from the team’s management tonight. They’ll come with a big effort against a Wild club that will be without Zach Parise (foot).

Pick: Phoenix Coyotes

Winnipeg Jets at New York Islanders (+125, 5.5)

The New York Islanders have lost eight of their last 10 games and now sit in last place of the Metropolitan Division. They have allowed at least four goals in each of their last four games and now face a Jets club that snapped a three-game slide with a road win at New Jersey. With the Islanders struggling to find a decent goalie to replace the injured Evgeni Nabokov, the Jets are a good bet here at this price. So is Evander Kane to score at +900.

Pick: Winnipeg Jets
