Vancouver Canucks vs. New York Islanders: NHL Odds, Prediction
The Canucks will look to erase the sting of a two-game losing streak as they continue their trek Tuesday night with a game against the host New York Islanders. Vancouver has two one-sided wins and a pair of one-goal losses so far on the trip, most recently dropping a 4-3 shootout decision to the red-hot New York Rangers on Sunday.

NHL Odds and Betting Analysis
The Islanders opened as a -190 favourite, but remain the clear choice among oddsmakers in this one. New York has won six of seven games coming into Tuesday’s action, and boasts an equally impressive 6-1 mark in its previous seven home contests. Meanwhile, the Canucks have struggled against Metropolitan opponents over the years, winning just seven of their previous 27 games against that division. Two-thirds of Sports Interaction bettors favour the Isles.
On the totals side, an overwhelming 81 percent are siding with the over, and with good reason. The Canucks have played to the over in three of their four games on the road trip and are 5-1 O/U in their previous six games overall. The Islanders have been an even stronger over play in recent weeks, going 13-3-1 O/U in their previous 17 games while exceeding the total eight times in their last 11 contests following a straight-up victory.
Vancouver Canucks
The Canucks have had the Islanders’ number in recent years, winning four of their previous five encounters in New York. But they’ll need to get their goaltending figured out; Anders Nilsson continues to outplay starter Jacob Markstrom, who has lost each of his past two starts while surrendering six goals in that span. Nilsson has won five of his seven starts this season, but is battling an illness and might not be available for Tuesday’s game.
New York Islanders
It might not matter who the Canucks have in goal Tuesday if the Islanders continue to roll offensively. New York has scored four goals or more in five of its previous seven games, and comes into the night tied with St. Louis for the fourth-highest goals-per-game average this month (3.55). Winger Josh Bailey, whose career high in points is 56, is already halfway to that total in just 23 games and has five multi-point performances in November.
Canucks vs. Islanders Prediction
Islanders 4, Canucks 2
