Both teams have won seven of their past 10 and are sitting in second place in their respective divisions. Each team has 27 wins and just one point separates them in the West.

The NHL odds have the Oilers as a -200 road favourite and the total is set at 6.0 goals. The puck will drop from Xcel Energy Arena in Saint Paul Minnesota at 8:30 p.m. ET.

Oilers vs. Wild NHL Betting Odds

Each team has one road win so far in the season series with Wednesday’s matchup serving as the series finale. The Oilers have a very respectable 12-6-2 record as the visitors, while Minnesota has been struggling at home with an 11-9-1 record. The Oil pumped the Wild 7-1 in their last meeting, when Leon Draisaitl put up a goal and three helpers. On the Wild side, Frederick Gaudreau has scored in both games, posting three goals and an assist in the series.

The Oilers are top 10 in the league in both goals-for (8th, 3.26 per game) and against (7th, 2.72 per game) helping them to an 18-24-1 record on the OVER/UNDER. They have been a horrible bet on the spread this season, covering in just 16 games so far, the second-least covers in the league.

The Wild have been solid on the spread covering in 23 of their 44 so far, including six of their past 10. Minny is right behind the Oil in goals-against per game, giving up just 2.73. They have played the OVER/UNDER 19-23-2 this season and evenly split the past 10.

Edmonton Oilers

The Oilers have won back-to-back one-goal games, giving them the win in five of their past six games. Connor McDavid scored the lone goal for Edmonton on Monday night in their 1-0 win over their divisional rival, the Los Angeles Kings. Stuart Skinner stood tall in goal, stopping all 30 shots for his second shutout of the season and taking home first star of the game. Leon Draisaitl’s assist extended his point streak to three games. He has picked up five points (2G 3A) in that stretch. Draisaitl is six points back of the league lead at 64, chasing his second Art Ross Trophy.

Edmonton has been the Stanley Cup favourite since the beginning of the season and their recent play has backed that up. Still sitting at +600 for the cup on the NHL futures board, the Oilers look like a solid value.

Minnesota Wild

The Wild are headed back home following a two-game West coast road trip, which they split 1-1. They opened the scoring versus the top-seeded Vegas Golden Knights on Sunday, but could not get anything else going, losing 4-1. Filip Gustavsson got the loss in that one, making him a loser in back-to-back starts while allowing a combined 10 goals in that pair of games.

Minny’s injured list includes almost all of their big names, including Brock Faber, Jared Spurgeon Jonas Brodin, and MVP candidate Kirill Kaprizov. Faber and Kaprizov both skated on their own Tuesday but did not practice with the team, meaning they will remain sidelined for Wednesday’s matchup.

Wednesday’s starter is still up in the air for the Wild with Gustavsson losing back-to-back and getting pulled in his last meeting with the Oilers. Marc-Andre Fleury has won his past three contests, so do not be surprised if the veteran is in goal.
