Edmonton Oilers vs. Vegas Golden Knights Prediction, NHL Odds

Edmonton and Vegas respectively sit in second and third in the Pacific Division with fewer than 10 games remaining. Edmonton’s 79 points are five back of the division-leading Anaheim Ducks, while Vegas at 78 points sit four points above any other team in the division. This also means a Golden Knights win could jump them ahead of the Oilers in the standings, raising the stakes even more.

The higher stakes haven’t brought out the best hockey for either club though. Edmonton’s had a 6-5 month of March, while Vegas has dropped four out of their last five outings. These two teams are also the only two in the Pacific Division who don’t have a negative goal differential but also have the two worst save percentages in the entire NHL. Long story short, this is no heavyweight bout.

Puck drop at T-Mobile Arena is set for 9:30 p.m. EDT, with Vegas a -140 moneyline favourite at home and the over-under at 6.5 on the NHL odds.

Oilers vs. Golden Knights NHL Betting Odds

Edmonton enters Thursday having beaten Vegas in eight of their last nine meetings. The Oilers are also a perfect 5-0 in their last five trips to Vegas. Both streaks include their second-round playoff series back in 2025, a series in which Edmonton won 4-1 and shut out Vegas twice. The Oilers are 2-0 against Vegas this season, winning 4-3 on December 21 and 4-2 on March 8. Connor Ingram was in net for both wins and turned away 53 of 57 shots faced.

Six straight Golden Knights games have finished under the total, and the under is 6-1 in their last seven outings at home too. It’s not because of stellar defence either; Vegas has gone super cold offensively, scoring two or fewer goals in nine of 13 games played in March. Vegas is 0-9 in those games, and 4-0 when they score three or more times.

Edmonton Oilers

The Oilers got a much-needed win on Tuesday in Utah, snapping a two-game skid in the process. Connor McDavid was the difference-maker once again, scoring the game-winning and game-sealing goals in the 5-2 win. McDavid’s first goal was his 400th career tally and 1,200th career point and his last goal was his 40th of the season. Jack Roslovic also scored twice in Tuesday’s win and is up to 19 goals on the season. The 19 goals are tied for fourth on the team, as Roslovic’s addition has been a big boost to Edmonton’s secondary scoring.

As always, the be-all end-all storyline in Edmonton is the goaltending but the Oilers made life easy for Tristan Jarry at Utah as he only faced 18 shots. Jarry improved to 8-6-1 with Edmonton but still has a save percentage of .856, leading to a heavy influx of Connor Ingram starts. Expect Ingram to man the crease in Vegas.

Vegas Golden Knights

A four-game homestand has to act as a spark for the Golden Knights’ offence, or else they could seriously be in trouble when it comes to earning a playoff spot. Vegas has been outscored 16-5 in their last five showings and don’t seem to have any answers to the lack of scoring, despite the talent being there.

Pavel Dorofeyev has a team-high 34 goals but has gone five straight games without one, and has one point in that timeframe. Jack Eichel hasn’t scored in two weeks, and Tomas Hertl has one goal this month. Mark Stone hasn’t even scored since the Olympic break. Mitch Marner is now officially under a point per game for the first time since his sophomore season in 2017–18. If the Golden Knights stars continue to stay quiet, this team might just fade off quietly into the night without a spot in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
