Puck Luck

Chicago Blackhawks at Dallas Stars (+105, 5.5)

It was a tough break for the Chicago Blackhawks with Corey Crawford going down for a couple of weeks with a lower-body injury. Crawford was struggling a little before the injury anyway and Chicago has dropped three of its last four, allowing 13 goals over that stretch. Meanwhile, the Stars are coming off a huge 5-1 win over Philadelphia. Tyler Seguin had another big game with a hat trick and an assist and is currently one point ahead of Jamie Benn for the team scoring lead with 27. Dallas has been great on the road but needs to start picking up regulation wins in front of the home crowd. A win here would go a long way.

Pick: Dallas Stars

Nashville Predators at New York Rangers (-185, 5)

The Rangers held a players-only meeting after they let another point slip away in an overtime loss to the Devils. Usually that signifies a major shift with a team. Still coach Alain Vigneault wasn’t impressed. He basically told the press that his club can talk all it wants, but until it starts stringing wins together, it doesn’t matter much. The Rangers are making a few roster moves bringing in Arron Asham and Derek Dorsett back into the mix and they’ll at least give New York some bite. We’ll see if the Rangers respond tonight.

Pick: New York Rangers

New Jersey Devils at Columbus Blue Jackets (-105, 5)

The Blue Jackets are trying to hang tough despite a pile of significant injuries. They posted back-to-back shutouts against the Lightning and Wild last week before falling 2-1 to the Penguins. They’re still missing Marian Gaborik, Nathan Horton, Sergei Bobrovsky and just learned that defenceman James Wisniewski will miss a while with a groin injury. The Devils are coming off an overtime win that should have them rolling into Columbus on a high.

Pick: New Jersey Devils
