Carey Price may have been golden for Team Canada at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, but the Montreal Canadiens are feeling the brunt of an injury Price suffered during the Games.

He left Wednesday’s pregame skate after pulling up on a lower-body injury that he reportedly re-aggravated during the Olympics. The Canadiens expect him to miss the next two games and have called up Dustin Tokarski from Hamilton to fill in as Peter Budaj’s backup while Price recovers.

Sports Interaction has the Canadiens currently listed as a -130 favorite tonight in NHL odds before the team heads to Pittsburgh for a date with the Penguins Thursday night.

Price was instrumental in Team Canada’s gold medal victory at Sochi. He was named the tournament’s best goaltender after posting a 5-0-0 record with a 0.59 goals-against average, .972 save percentage and two shutouts.

For his part, Detroit and Team Canada coach Mike Babcock said he was unaware that Price was dealing with an injury during the Olympics.
