Columbus Blue Jackets at Toronto Maple Leafs (-210, 5.5)
Coming off a 49-save effort in Saturday’s 2-1 overtime win over the Washington Capitals, it looks like the Leafs will go back to James Reimer in goal again tonight. That makes a lot of sense. He leads the league with a .947 save percentage and has now won six of his eight starts this season. Last season, Sergei Bobrovsky was putting up those kind of numbers on his way to a Vezina Trophy win, but this year has been a different story. He gave up six goals Saturday against Vancouver and his save percentage has dipped to .904. Here’s a hunch that he will bounce back tonight.
Philadelphia Flyers at Florida Panthers (+110, 5)
The Flyers have finally shook off their early-season slump to win three straight games while hitting the back of the net 14 times. Claude Giroux has eight points in his last seven games and Philly has scored at least one power play goal in each of the last six games. Florida is coming off a long stint on the road and this will be a rude welcome here against the gritty Flyers.
Pick: Philadelphia Flyers
New York Rangers at Tampa Bay Lightning (-110, 5)
Steven Stamkos is already walking around on his surgically repaired leg without crutches or a boot, so that’s good news for Lightning supporters. The bad news is he still won’t be back for at least another 10 weeks. Tampa Bay won its first two games after he was hurt, but has dropped each of the last four games since. Meanwhile, the Rangers are finally getting healthy and appear to be hitting their stride. Their team speed is greatly improved from last year now that Chris Kreider, Mats Zuccarello and Carl Hagelin are playing bigger roles. New York can roll three solid lines now and that depth may give the Lightning problems in this spot.
Pick: New York Rangers
