LIVE NHL Trade Deadline Updates: 2015 Deals and Rumors

This year’s trade deadline is looking a little different than usual, as many teams are making deals before the Monday trade deadline, in order to avoid the pressure and the rising prices that often occur day of. Seeing the trades being spread out a few weeks before the deadline seems to be a developing trend over the past several years.

So far a number of big name trades have already been made, and teams like the New York Rangers and the Washington Capitals are stocking up their rosters to improve playoff run chances.

DEADLINE DAY:

Braydon Coburn for Radko Gudas, 1st and 3rd is a great return for the Flyers.

Edmonton Oilers send defenseman Jeff Petry to the Montreal Canadiens for a second- and fifth-round draft pick. Montreal needed a good right-handed shot and Petry adds some good depth to the Montreal roster.

St. Louis Blues have acquired D Zbynek Michalek from the Coyotes for draft picks. Details to follow. Concerns about Michalek’s health abound in the twitterverse.

San Jose Sharks gets F Ben Smith from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for F Andrew Desjardins.

Sharks trade Tyler Kennedy to Islanders for conditional 3rd-round pick in 2016.

Penguins acquire Ian Cole from the Blues for Robert Bortuzzo and seventh round draft pick.

The San Jose Sharks have acquired D Karl Stollery from the Avalanche in exchange for F Freddie Hamilton.

Sabres trade Michael Neuvirth to the Isles in exchange for Chad Johnson and a conditional pick.

Vancouver Canucks get Cory Conacher from the Islanders in exchange for Dustin Jeffrey. Conacher played 15 games with the Islanders, 28 in AHL

Columbus Blue Jackets get Justin Falk and a 5th round pick from the Wild in 2015 as the return for D Justin Leopold.

Toronto Maple Leafs trade F Olli Jokinen to the St.Louis Blues for a late draft pick.

Sabres trade Torrey Mitchell to the Habs in exchange for a prospect and a draft pick. More depth for Montreal.

Penguins get D Ben Lovejoy from Ducks in exchange for D Simon Despres. It’s been a big day for Ds.

Flames trade Sven Baertchi to Vancouver Canucks for a 2nd.

Blue Jackets send James Wisnewski, 3rd round pick to the Anaheim Ducks for William Karlsson, Rene Bourque and 2nd round pick. Some big deals came in at the last minute, by the looks of things.

Av’s F Maxime Talbot traded to the Boston Bruins in exchange for F Jordan Caron.
