Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Dallas Stars Prediction, NHL Odds
Despite facing each other in last year’s cup final, this matchup has been one sided during the 2021 season. The Lightning have won all three games, shutting out Dallas in the first two meetings.
Lightning vs. Stars Betting Analysis
Tampa visited Dallas a week ago and won in a shootout. Since then, the Bolts have won four in a row, outscoring their opponents 17-9. 89 percent of Sports Interaction customers are siding with the Lightning at -166 tonight.
The total for Tuesday’s game sits at 5.5 and 69 percent of bettors are taking the Over. In the most recent meeting they hit the Over scoring six, but have gone under in their two meetings prior to that. The offence has dried up for the Stars recently, as they have not scored more than three in a game since March 9th, a span of seven games. Tampa has led the league in goals for almost the entire season.
Tampa Bay Lightning
Tampa Bay has gone on two six game winning streaks this year and aims to do it for the third time, as the Lightning roll into Dallas for a two game set. The Bolts are undefeated against the Stars this year and come in red hot, winning their last four games. Sunday’s win over Florida gave them some separation in the division, extending their lead to four points. Defenceman Ryan McDonagh left the game with a lower-body injury and did not return. The 31-year-old has eight points and averages 22:29 in ice time, second most on the team.
Captain Steven Stamkos is showing that he can still score, leading the team with 15 goals. He is one of three players on the Lightning with 30-plus points so far.
Dallas Stars
The Stars lost a crucial point on Sunday night in a shootout loss against Nashville. They now find themselves 1-5 in shootouts and second last in the Central division, five points behind Chicago, Columbus and Nashville for the fourth and final playoff spot. Dallas lost more than just a point on Sunday though, as three of their top nine forwards left the game with injuries. Joel Kiviranta, Radek Faksa and Roope Hintz will all join the long list of banged-up Stars.
With key players out of the lineup, the rookies have stepped up offensively. Ty Dellandrea has scored in back-to-back goals and Jason Robertson has four assists in as many games.
