Seattle Kraken vs. Pittsburgh Penguins Prediction, NHL Odds
The Penguins have picked up points in three straight games but need to bounce back after back-to-back losses in extra time.
Seattle wants to extend their franchise record-setting win streak in their first game of the season versus the Penguins. A 10-game streak could also put them into a playoff position after a tough start to the season almost put it out of reach.

Kraken vs. Penguins NHL Betting Odds
These squads have only met four times in history and the Kraken leads the series three games to one. Seattle is 2-0 at PPG Paints Arena and has taken the past three head-to-heads. The past three matchups have all played the UNDER and if you take away an empty net goal they were all one-goal games.
A big part of Seattle’s recent success has been their ability to defend. They gave up more than two goals for the first time in eight games in their most recent win 7-4 over Columbus on Saturday night. Over their nine-game win streak, they have played the UNDER seven times allowing just 1.4 goals per game. They are now 18-21-3 on the OVER/UNDER this season and covering the spread five games in a row and eight of their past 10 have boosted them to 26-16 ATS.
The Pens have covered in three of their past five games and six over the past 10, getting them up to 22-19 against the spread. Pittsburgh’s offence has been on fire since the holiday break scoring over 3.5 goals per game in the nine games since. Over the same stretch, they have only allowed 2.4 per game, helping them post a 4-5 on the OVER/UNDER.
Seattle Kraken
Seattle was chasing the game early on Saturday night in Columbus, giving up a goal less than two minutes into the contest. They would tie the game three times before Oliver Bjorkstrand’s (12) powerplay marker gave the Kraken their first lead of the game 4-3 late in the second period.
The offence would score two more in the third and add an empty netter for insurance in the 7-4 win. Bjorkstrand (1G 2A) and Jared McCann (2G 1A) lead the way for the team while Joey Daccord stopped 30 of 34 for his eighth consecutive win, boosting his record to 13-5-8.
The seven goals scored by the Kraken tied their season-high and was their fourth game in a row scoring at least four goals.
Confidence has been a huge part of the Kraken’s recent success. This was the first time they allowed more than two goals over their win streak, but the team did not panic and battled through for the win.
On a negative note, forwards Andre Burakovsky and Matty Beniers left the game in the third period and did not return. They are both currently listed as day-to-day as the team assesses the injuries.
Pittsburgh Penguins
Pittsburgh’s overtime loss on the road Saturday night in Carolina was their second in a row but did extend their point streak to three games. After going down 2-0 in the first, the Pens battled back in the third with goals from Jake Guentzel (19) and Brian Rust (11) to send it to extra time. They scored in the final minute to tie the game in back-to-back outings, but have come up short in the three-on-three overtime.
Tristan Jarry has started back-to-back games for Pittsburgh for the first time in the new year. He has a losing record this season (11-12-4) despite an impressive .913 save percentage with a 2.58 goals-against average.
Three points out of a wildcard in the extremely tight Metropolitan Division has caused some worry in Pittsburgh. Trade rumours are starting to circulate about Guentzel the team’s leading scorer, who has 46 points (19G 27A). It is probably unlikely a group of core veteran forwards like Sidney Crosby, Brian Rust and Evgeni Malkin would be on board with the team shipping away the 29-year-old winger but GM Kyle Dubas has a track record of blockbuster trades. 1
