Winnipeg Jets vs. Dallas Stars Game 4 Prediction, Playoff Odds

The Stars are -150 favourites on the NHL odds with a total of 5.5 goals.

Jets vs. Stars NHL Playoff Betting Odds

With Dallas rolling 5-2 in Game 3 on Sunday (we projected a 3-2 Stars win) for a 2-1 lead in the series, it is now the -350 favourite in the Western Conference semifinals (was -160 entering Game 3) and Winnipeg  +280 (was +135). I lean Stars in six games and that’s priced +220, behind only Dallas in five at +210. But that it ends in six is the +150 leader with seven at +185 and five at +220.

We haven’t seen an OT game yet in the set and that none go to OT is +100, followed by one at +145, and I still lean one. Connor Hellebuyck shut out the Stars in Game 2 in Winnipeg but each team otherwise has scored at least two goals in every game. That the series ends with that one shutout is -425, with a second game as such at +320. Dallas is now the -185 leader to score the most goals in the series with the Jets at +145. Both teams have totaled eight goals.

On some series player props, Hellebuyck is -200 to record at least 18 saves in each game of the series and that seems likely barring him getting pulled in one. American counterpart Jake Oettinger of the Stars is -275 to do the same. There has been one hat trick in the series by Dallas’ Mikko Rantanen in Game 1. Winnipeg’s Kyle Connor has the shortest odds of all other players to get one in the series at +3000.

Teams that own a 2-1 lead in a best-of-seven own an all-time series record of 391-177 (.688), including a 5-2 (.714) mark in the 2025 first round. Dallas is the new Stanley Cup favourite at +340, and I think it should be.

Winnipeg Jets

Connor Hellebuyck could be in the Hall of Fame someday, especially after surely winning a third career Vezina Trophy from this past regular season. But the 31-year-old might be in a strange place mentally at this point playing away from home. Hellebuyck was shelled and pulled from all three first-round games in St. Louis, all losses, and he allowed five more goals in Game 3 on Sunday as the series shifted to Dallas – but wasn’t pulled. Can’t imagine that the Jets turn to Eric Comrie as starter, but maybe Hellebuyck has a short leash Tuesday. Hellebuyck was decent enough the first two periods Sunday as the game was tied 2-2, but he allowed three goals in the third.

Kyle Connor (fifth of playoffs) and Nino Niederreiter (fourth) had the Winnipeg goals. It was Connor’s first goal in five games, and he reached 20 career playoff goals in his 55th such game. That’s the seventh-fastest among U.S.-born players. Niederreiter became the third player on the Jets’ roster to score 20 career playoff goals alongside Mark Scheifele (24) and Connor. Winnipeg is 2-5 all-time in road Game 4s.

Dallas Stars

Stars winger Mikko Rantanen stayed red hot in Game 3 with a goal and two assists and leads the postseason with 18 points – and he had just one point over the team’s first four playoff games in Round 1. Rantanen has joined Edmonton teammates Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid (in 2022) as the only players in the last 30 years with 17-plus points over a span of six postseason games. Rantanen is the first player in NHL history with five three-point games through his first 10 contests in a postseason. He also has factored on each of the Stars’ last five winning goals, which is a franchise record. Alex Petrovic had the winner early in the third Sunday to become the first Stars defenceman to score a game-winning goal in the playoffs since Miro Heiskanen in Game 6 of the 2022 first round. Heiskanen, incidentally, has yet to play in this postseason due to injury but might Tuesday.

It was the 29th career playoff win for Jake Oettinger to tie Tim Thomas and Ben Bishop for the sixth-most postseason victories wins by a U.S.-born goaltender. Peter DeBoer won his 94th playoff game to tie Pat Quinn and Darryl Sutter for the sixth-most postseason wins by a head coach in league history. Dallas is 21-14 all-time in home Game 4s.
