Vegas Golden Knights vs. Winnipeg Jets Prediction, NHL Odds
Vegas has only won two of its past eight games, dropping them to the final wild card position in the Western Conference. With only four points separating the Jets from that final wild card spot, tonight’s game could decide either team’s playoff fate.
The Jets are -162 favourites to win on the NHL odds, with a total of 6.0.
Golden Knights vs. Jets NHL Betting Odds
Winnipeg handed the Golden Knights a 7-3 beating when they played just a week ago. Kyle Connor finished the night with three points (1G, 2A) and was one of five Jets’ players with a multi-point game. Vegas goalie, and former Winnipeg Jet, Laurent Brossoit got pulled halfway through the game after allowing four goals on only 13 shots.
Both of the meetings between these teams so far this season, have played the Over and 81 per cent of early bets are siding that way as well. About 83 per cent of Moneyline bettors are taking the Jets to complete the sweep tonight on home ice.
The Golden Knights played five straight games to the Over until Monday’s 3-0 loss in Minnesota, giving them a 35-27 record on the Over/Under. Vegas has been one of the worst teams against the spread this season, going 26-39 ATS, with only two covers in their last 10 games.
The Jets have been money against the spread this season, with the second-most covers in the Central Division. They went 5-2 ATS in their past seven, boosting them to 36 covers on the year. The Over is 7-3 in the past 10 Winnipeg games.
Vegas Golden Knights
The Golden Knights wrap up a two-game road trip tonight after being shut out 3-0 in Minnesota last night. Rookie goaltender Logan Thompson stood tall in the net, stopping 33 of 35 shots.
With starter Robin Lehner battling a lower-body injury that may keep him out longterm, Vegas has turned to the tandem of Thompson and Brossoit. Thompson has won the starting job for now, going 3-3 in seven games while posting a 2.85 goals-against average.
After picking up Jack Eichel earlier in the season, the Golden Knights had no more room to make a deal at yesterday’s trade deadline.
Winnipeg Jets
Winnipeg has won five of their past seven games after beating the Chicago Blackhawks 6-4 on Sunday night. Connor picked up four points (1G, 3A) and scored his 39th goal of the season. He has been on fire this month, picking up 19 points in 10 games through March.
When the dust settled on yesterday’s trade deadline, Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff had shipped out forward Andrew Copp and defenceman Nathan Beaulieu and brought back forward Mason Appleton along with Zach Sanford. The Jets likely gave up more than they received at the deadline this time around, showing Cheveldayoff’s confidence in his squad.
