Colorado Avalanche vs. Tampa Bay Lightning Prediction, NHL Odds
Fresh off only their third regulation loss of the season, the Colorado Avalanche will look to get back in the win column in Tampa Bay on Tuesday.
Both teams lead their respective conference heading into Tuesday night’s game, in their second meeting of the season.
The NHL odds are favouring the Avalanche at -125 on the moneyline. The total is set at six goals, with puck drop set for 7 p.m. EST from the Benchmark International Arena in Florida.

The Avs took the first of the two-game season series 3-2 on home ice back in November. That win snapped a streak of three straight losses to the Bolts. Victor Olofsson had two goals for the Avalanche, while Scott Wedgewood stopped 22 of 24 for the victory. That Colorado win hit the UNDER, breaking a 3-0 run to the OVER.
Colorado took a loss in their last time out, snapping their 10-game heater. In that 10-game stretch, they covered the spread in seven of them. They have covered the spread in five of their seven wins, bringing them to 19-22 ATS on the season.

The Florida Panthers held off the red-hot Avalanche on Sunday night, snapping their 10-game win streak with a 2-1 win. Artturi Lehkonen (15th) scored the lone goal for the Avs as they managed just a single tally on 28 shots. This was only the second time this season they were held to one goal in a game, and the last time they still managed a 1-0 win.
Colorado has a ridiculous 31-3-7 record at the halfway point of the season, 11 points ahead of the next best team in the league. Their three regulation losses have all come on the road, and they have not lost two in a row since October. They will be wrapping up a three-game Eastern Conference swing on Tuesday in Tampa.
An unlucky fall from captain Gabriel Landeskog forced him out of the game in the second period on Sunday, and he will miss some time with what looks to be an injury to his rib/hip area. The Swede missed three years with a knee injury before returning in last year’s playoffs. He joins defenceman Devon Toews and goalie Mackenzie Blackwood on the injured list.
Tampa Bay Lightning
The Lightning’s seventh win in a row was the most impressive yet, dismantling the San Jose Sharks 7-3 on Saturday. They came out buzzing off the opening draw, taking a 3-0 lead before the seven-minute mark of the first and ended the period up 3-1. There was more dominance in the second, with the Bolts outscoring the Sharks 4-1 in the middle frame, before easing off in the third and coasting to a 7-3 victory.
Defenceman Darren Raddysh scored his first career hat trick in the game, including a pair of goals on the power play. With Victor Hedman out with an injury, Raddysh has blossomed into a power play merchant, picking up 12 goals and 24 assists on the season and is three points from a career-high with only 35 games played.
Nikita Kucherov was named the NHL’s first star of the week for the past week after picking up three goals and seven assists for 10 points in three games. He had a goal and four assists against the Sharks, getting his season total up to 20 goals and 39 assists. He is also riding a seven-game point streak, collecting 17 points in that stretch.
