Canada will be in Group A and for the second straight year, they will face Finland, Latvia and Germany in the round robin. This year’s tournament swaps Sweden into Group B and moves the United States to Group A.
It’s the first time the Canadians and Americans will meet on New Year’s Eve since the 2017 tournament. The teams didn’t face off last year, with their last meeting coming in the semifinals of the 2023 tournament. Canada won that game 6-2 and went on to beat Czechia 3-2 in overtime in the gold medal game.
This year’s quarterfinal games are scheduled for January 2, with the semifinals set for January 4. The bronze and gold medal games will go on January 5.
