NFL GIF Blitz #1 - Week 1

Not many saw this one coming, but St. Louis was able to pull off an overtime win against Seattle. After falling behind early against the Rams, Seattle stormed back scoring 18 unanswered points, giving them a 31-24 lead before Nick Foles found Lance Kendricks for the game tying 37-yard touchdown. Dion Bailey was the safety in coverage, playing in place of hold-out Kam Chancellor. This would force OT where the Rams would score a field goal and proceed to stuff Marshawn Lynch on 4th and 1 to steal the win.

NFL GIF Blitz #2 - Week 1

It didn't take long for Brian Hoyer to find the Texans bench after falling behind early against the Chiefs. Alex Smith and company found the endzone early and often, racing out to a big first-half lead. Here's tight end Travis Kelce with the catch and run for a 42-yard touchdown in the first quarter, continuing the streak of no touchdown passes to a wide receiver to over a full year. Ryan Mallet took over for Hoyer and was able to put the Texans back in the game, but it was too little too late as the Chiefs held on for a 20-27 finish.

NFL GIF Blitz #3 - Week 1

It looked like the Lions had the Chargers' number early on in this game, racking up a 21-10 lead going into halftime. It didn't take long for things to fall apart as the Chargers came roaring back on San Diego receiver Keenan Allen's 15 catches for 166 yards that would put them in position to complete the comeback. The Lions only managed a single score in the second half, falling 28-33. While they didn't get the win, they have to be encouraged by rookie Ameer Abdullah. His very first NFL carry went for a 24 yard touchdown.

NFL GIF Blitz #4 - Week 1

The Browns are called the Factory of Sadness for a reason. Cleveland thought they might get a serviceable quarterback in Josh McCown and he performed well against the Jets until this play. McCown left the game with a concussion after being turned into a human helicopter. Enter Johnny Manziel, who turned in a so-so performance against a tough Jets defense. New York managed to do just enough on offense to put the game out of reach early in the second half, completing a 31-10 beat down.

NFL GIF Blitz #5 - Week 1

Jameis Winston had a debut to forget for the Buccaneers while Marcus Mariota shone bright like a diamond. Winston's first NFL pass found the hands of Titans cornerback Coty Sensabaugh and then found the end zone. The Buccanners struggled mightily on both sides of the ball against the Titans and were routed 42-14 in front of their home. For Mariota, his first touchdown came on his second pass attempt in the game on a nice play fake and quick release throw good for a 52-yard touchdown to Kendall Wright.

NFL GIF Blitz #6 - Week 1

Any questions about the Bills' defense were answered, as they held off what many thought would be an unstoppable Colts offense to a shutout in the first half. While the Colts managed to score 15 points in the second half, their defense was unable to stop much of anything, including this bomb from Tyrod Taylor to Percy Harving for a 51-yard score. The Colts picked up where they left of in the AFC Championship, being sunk by a porous defense, while the Bills could be showing signs of life this year with a 14-27 Week 1 win.

NFL GIF Blitz #7 - Week 1

The Packers handled the Bears with a 31-23 win at Soldier Field, but it didn't come easy. Chicago's offense dominated time of posession, leaving Aaron Rodgers on the sidelines while they wore down Green Bay's defense for some long, sustained drives that ended in points on their first three drives. Rodgers started to heat up, getting flushed from the pocket on this play and tossing a flip pass that was snagged by Eddie Lacy for a one-handed grab and first down yardage and an eventual important divisional win.

NFL GIF Blitz #8 - Week 1

Preseason hopes were high for the Raiders with Derek Carr looking to be a star-in-the-making and a defense coming into its own. It looks like those hopes may have been premature as things couldn't have gone worse for Oakland. The Bengals offense looked efficient, scoring 24 points in the first half, while the defense managed to knock Carr out of the game, as well as losing a handful of other key starters to injury. To make matters worse, Adam Jones and Amari Cooper got into a heated exchange that ended in Jones ripping Cooper's helmet off and slamming his head into it, adding insult to injury after a 33-13 Bengals blowout.

NFL GIF Blitz #9 - Week 1

The Ravens and Broncos put on a true defensive display in Week 1, as neither team could seem to get their offenses into a rhythm. Peyton Manning had a poor showing, going 24 of 40 for just 175, no touchdowns and an interception. Denver's defense came to his rescue, intercepting Joe Flacco twice at crucial times in the game. This play was the game sealer as Darian Stewart plucks what could have been the game winning touchdown pass out of Crockett Gillmore's hands to preserve the 13-19 win.

NFL GIF Blitz #10 - Week 1

Sunday Night Football gave us the Giants and Cowboys and was exactly what you'd expect from the two NFC East rivals in a thrilling finale. The Giants managed to gain a lead on the back of a rash of Cowboys turnovers, but inexplicably gave Dallas one last chance to win the game. On third and goal from the one, the Giants opted to pass and when Eli Manning threw it away, he stopped the clock, giving the Cowboys 40 seconds to score. Comeback king Tony Romo drove the Cowboys down the field quickly and connected with Jason Witten as regulation ended to top the Giants 26-27.
