Texans vs. Patriots Betting: NFL Playoffs Divisional Round Parlay Picks

Following a terrific start to the postseason with Wild Card Weekend, the NFL playoff action heats up this weekend with four games across both conferences, including a showdown between the Houston Texans and New England Patriots. The Texans are looking to continue their defensive dominance, while the Patriots are in search of their first AFC title game appearance since the Tom Brady era in the late 2010s. Let’s get into our expert’s Divisional Round parlay picks for this showdown on Sunday.

Texans vs. Patriots NFL Playoffs Parlay

Houston Texans +3.5 (-130)

Under 41 (-110)

Woody Marks (HOU) under 58.5 rushing yards (-145)

Texans vs. Patriots parlay odds: +550

Texans vs. Patriots NFL Playoffs Parlay Pick: Texans +3.5 (-130)

It’s hard to truly evaluate these teams given the futility of their opponents in the Wild Card round, but our expert has a hard time seeing either side winning by margin in a game that should be a defensive struggle. As long as Houston’s defence is able to confuse Patriots quarterback Drake Maye a bit in the biggest game of his career to date, this one should come down to the wire.

With that in mind, we’ll take the Texans catching more than a field goal on an alternate spread, as there is certainly a world in which New England grinds out a victory by a field goal.

Texans vs. Patriots NFL Playoffs Parlay Pick: Under 41 (-110)

This is a game that should be dictated by both defences. After all, the Texans are arguably the premier unit in the NFL on that side of the ball, and we just saw Maye and this New England offence struggle for a decent chunk of the game against a top-10 defence. It wouldn’t be a shock if this offence got off to another slow start against its biggest test of the season to this point.

On the other side, the Texans’ offence did not exactly have a stellar showing against the Steelers in the Wild Card round, as Houston turned the ball over three times and registered just seven points through three quarters. Houston finished the game with just 16 total offensive points, which probably won’t cut it this time around. The Texans likely won’t benefit from multiple defensive touchdowns to aid their cause, either.

Texans vs. Patriots NFL Playoffs Parlay Pick: Woody Marks (HOU) under 57.5 rushing yards (-145)

Houston’s offence has been a real issue down the stretch of the season, and the Texans are unlikely to get many opportunities to run the ball against a Patriots defence that just completely dominated the Chargers at the line of scrimmage a week ago.

The Texans’ offensive line isn’t nearly in the same dire straits as what we saw with Los Angeles, but this is not a team that has run the ball effectively over the course of the season. With Nick Chubb getting a bit more of the workload with each passing week, Marks could see his productivity dip a bit against the Pats, as the matchup toughens and carries are harder to come by.
