Drew Brees has yet to play in the preseason, but the 10-time Pro Bowler should see most of the snaps in this game at home against the Texans. In the last three years in Week 3 of the preseason, Brees has combined to go 22-of-33 for 246 yards with three touchdowns and no picks.

Texans vs. Saints Odds and Betting Analysis

Point spread: Saints -3 Over/under: 43.5 Date: Saturday, August 26, 2017 Location: Mercedes-Benz Superdome, New Orleans.

NFL odds have the home team Saints set as 3-point favourites with the total currently sitting at 43.5.

The Houston Texans are 1-1 this preseason and are fresh off a 27-23 home win over the Patriots last Saturday. The Texans lost 27-17 in their preseason opener in Charlotte to the Panthers. The New Orleans Saints are 1-1 in exhibition play and won 13-7 in Los Angeles against the Chargers last Sunday. The Saints were beaten 20-14 in Cleveland in Week 1.

Houston Texans

Tom Savage is the starting QB but for how long? After just two games of the preseason, Texans coach Bill O’Brien has named Tom Savage his starter, while rookie Deshaun Watson is the backup. O’Brien says that Savage is a better quarterback than his 1-1 record in two relief appearances last year suggests. That remains to be seen, but in two preseason games so far, Savage is 17-of -20 for 167 yards and a touchdown.

New Orleans Saints

The New Orleans Saints defense has looked really good and if that continues, the Saints could be a force in the NFC South this season. New Orleans had eight sacks overall and five of them in the first half last week in Los Angeles. The Chargers’ offence didn’t even score a point and gained only 158 total yards.
