Super Bowl 59 Player Props: It’s time to back Kareem Hunt over Isiah Pacheco

NFL: AFC Championship-Buffalo Bills at Kansas City Chiefs

Kareem Hunt led Kansas City in rushing yards in the AFC Championship Game, while Isiah Pacheco has failed to hit 20 rushing yards in either of the Chiefs' playoff games this year.

With Super Bowl 59 set to go down between the Chiefs and Eagles in New Orleans on Sunday, I’m taking a different approach and pitting two teammates against each other. When you’re looking at prop bets, here’s why you should take Kareem Hunt over Isiah Pacheco.

Buy: Kareem Hunt rushing yards

Hunt has increasingly become a more trusted option over Pacheco, with the veteran running back finding the end zone in four straight games and finishing with 64 rushing yards on 17 carries in the AFC Championship Game. For comparison, Pacheco only had five carries and 12 rushing yards against Buffalo.

Fade: Isiah Pacheco rushing yards

At the start of the year, I never thought Pacheco’s rushing yards total would be set so low, let alone that I would recommend fading it. Pacheco just hasn’t been the same since returning from a broken leg. He’s failed to rush for for 20 yards in either playoff game this year and he’s clearly the third option to carry the ball behind Hunt and Patrick Mahomes.
