The Seattle Seahawks and Oakland Raiders meet in the final preseason game for both teams, and it has been complete opposite preseasons for these two teams.

Seattle Seahawks vs. Oakland Raiders

The Seahawks have had a solid preseason, with a 3-0 record, and are already showing signs of why they are the heavy favourites in the NFC West Division. Meanwhile, the Oakland Raiders are 0-3 in three starts, but remain a top contender in the AFC (Sports Interaction win total: 10).

Oakland opened as a 1.5-point favourite on the NFL odds page, but that point spread has shifted. Now, it’s set as a Pick ’em with the Seahawks priced at -125. The over/under has dropped from 40.5 to 40.

Week 4 of the NFL preseason is also known as the dog days of August, most rosters are set and the one thing on ever head coach’s mind is staying healthy. Both teams will resting most, if not all its starters. Of note, the Raiders are 4-1 ATS in their last five home games, and the over is 20-6-2 in the Raiders’ last 28 home games.

Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks were ranked fifth on total defence (318.7) last year, were eighth against the pass (225.8 yards), and seventh against the run (92.9 yards). They look good on the defensive side of the ball again so far, allowing only 69 yards on the ground against the Chiefs last week. Quarterback Russell Wilson seems to be in mid-season form, going 13-of-19 for 200 yards in the Seahawks 26-13 win. Receivers Doug Baldwin and Jermaine Kearse combined for 104 yards receiving on five catches. Rookie running back Chris Carson has been turning heads in camp so far and turned in another big effort in the win with 90 total yards from scrimmage.

Oakland Raiders

The Raiders were stopped by the Cowboys last week 24-20, but the good news was the play of quarterback Derek Carr. Carr was 13-of-17 passing for 144 yards and two touchdowns, including a 48 yard bomb to Amari Cooper. Raiders fans may see a lot of that this upcoming season, but not so much here in week 4 of the preseason, as neither are expected to dress. Expect to see backups EJ Manual and Connor Cook under center against the Seahawks, as the battle for the No. 2 spot continues. Former Seahawk Marshawn Lynch played briefly last week, but it wouldn’t be surprising if the veteran was held out of this one ahead of Week 1.
