Get ready for one of the oldest, most intense rivalries in all of professional sports. Just kidding. The Seattle Seahawks are dealing with a number of injuries as they host the hot and cold Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football. They had a demoralizing loss on the road last week, falling to the New Orleans Saints 25-20, and will be looking to regain some momentum at home in Seattle. Seattle are the -7 favorites on Sports Interaction’s NFL betting odds. Buffalo 4-1 ATS in their last five games against Seattle.

Seattle Seahawks

This Seattle team doesn’t look like the SuperBowl contender team they were a couple seasons back, and a lackluster performance from Russell Wilson is a huge part of the reason. They have failed to rush for 100 yards in four straight and five of seven games this season. They currently rank 28th in league averaging, 81.4 yards per game rushing.

Wilson has just five touchdown passes and two interceptions on the year, in the last three games, he has been held without a touchdown pass while throwing for an average of 249.3 yards per game during that time. If Buffalo finds a way to shut down the Seahawks run game, forcing them to let Russell throw, they could make things tough for Seattle.

Fortunately for the ‘Hawks, their defense is still one of the best in the league, and they seem to have a good record when playing to their home crowd in prime time games, so they should have a fairly winnable game on their hands. The Seahawks sit in first place in the NFC West.

Buffalo Bills

This will be the Bills’ first trip to Seattle since 2004. This team has not finished better than 9-7 in the last 16 seasons and they haven’t made the playoffs since 1999. Quarterback Tyrod Taylor has four touchdowns and no interceptions in his last two games vs. NFC West teams.

The Bills started the season with two losses and then won four consecutive games only to drop the last two, including a 41-25 loss to the New England Patriots last week. For that game, the Bills outrushed the Patriots 167-72, but couldn’t answer to the Pats’ offence. The team that dominated the Cardinals at home, and then beat the Rams 30-19 are the team that’ll have to show up on Monday if they want to win. Because Wilson isn’t playing his best football, Buffalo can’t allow Seattle to have success on the ground.

Bills inside linebacker Preston Brown talked about Wilson earlier this week, saying “We still know he’s definitely an asset with his legs, so we still have to go out there and game plan for it even though he might not be as potent as he used to be.”
