Saints’ Alvin Kamara suspended, RB Kareem Hunt Visits Team
Alvin Kamara’s battery arrest in Las Vegas in February this year and subsequent investigation have resulted in the star running back being punished under the NFL’s personal conduct policy. The RB will miss three games for the New Orleans Saints.
In light of these developments, it’s being reported that the club is going to meet with RB Kareem Hunt, currently a free agent.

Saints’ Kamara Suspended, Team in Talks with Kareem Hunt
As is NFL protocol, the league does not require a conviction to come down on players with sanctions. The NFL has its own independent procedures based on real evidence of whatever a concerned party is accused of, hence Alvin Kamara’s three-game ban.
With the Saints already trying to bounce back from a couple of mediocre seasons, they now face a few games without one of their obvious offensive weapons to start the season. He has tallied either over or nearly 900 yards on the ground in the last three seasons, bolstered by over 400 yards receiving in the last two and over 700 in 2020.
Given the circumstances, the Saints are inviting free agent Kareem Hunt for a visit this week. The obvious objective here is for New Orleans to find out how good a fit the former Browns ball carrier is, if at all. Simply put, the Saints need bodies.
Hunt began his career brilliantly in Kansas City in 2017 when he rushed for 1,327 yards and scored eight touchdowns. He moved to Cleveland in 2019 and, be it due to suspensions or injuries, things were never quite the same. The 2020 campaign was clearly his best when he dashed for 841 yards and six TDs. He also caught for 304 yards and five scores that same season.
The New Orleans Saints open their preseason schedule with a home game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, August 13.
