Mondays in the NFL come with the good and the bad. Look no further than the Baltimore Ravens. The club opened its 2023 campaign with a fairly convincing 25-9 win over the Houston Texans but in the process lost running back J.K Dobbins to injury. He’ll be out for the entire 2023 season with a torn Achilles.

Ravens’ RB J.K. Dobbins Tears Achilles, Will Miss 2023

The accident happened in the third quarter. Dobbins caught a pass from Lamar Jackson in the red zone and was brought down along the sidelines just a few yards away from scoring. Unfortunately, Dobbins came up limping and never returned to the contest. It was later revealed that the tackle and fall had torn his Achilles.

There were a lot of expectations from Dobbins heading into 2023. Fans will remember that he was entirely absent from the 2021 slate of matches because of a knee injury, and missed some time in 2022 as well.

With him officially ruled out for the entire campaign, the Ravens will depend on Gus Edwards and Justice Hill to carry the load, so to speak. It’s being said that Melvin Gordon could see some action if need be.

Said QB Lamar Jackson after the game:

“That’s very unfortunate. I feel like J.K. been busting his behind to get back on that field and just show…what he’s capable of and to help us long the way…For him to go down with an injury, that’s just very unfortunate, not just for him – for all of us.”
