Josh Allen has thrown for 729 yards and six touchdowns and running for one more through only two weeks of football.
One of the surprise matchups of undefeated teams in Week 3 is the Los Angeles Rams-Buffalo Bills contest. The Rams have played really great football so far this season, winning their season opener in their brand-new stadium then winning their first road game. Meanwhile, their opponent has been playing equally well, beating two divisional opponents. This is going to be the biggest test yet for either of these teams and it will be interesting to see how each team fares in this Week 3 clash.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
The over is 4-0 in the Rams last four games when coming in as the underdog and 4-1 in their last five games overall. Los Angeles is 3-0-1 ATS in their past four games overall and 4-0 against the spread (ATS) in their last four games when coming in as the road underdog.
On the other side, the under has gone 6-1 in the Bills last seven games when coming off an ATS loss in the game prior. The under is also 6-1 in their last seven against teams with a winning record. However, Buffalo is 4-1 ATS in their last five games when coming in as the favorite but are just 1-3-1 ATS in their last five games overall.
Los Angeles Rams
The Rams have looked like a very complete football team this season after picking up wins against the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles. Their offense has been clicking on all cylinders so far as they are ranked eighth in the NFL in total points scored. Starting quarterback Jared Goff has looked like the Goff of 2018, throwing for 542 yards to go along with three touchdown passes while completing 69 percent of his passes. He has shared the wealth throughout the offense as youngsters like Darrell Henderson, Tyler Higbee and Van Jefferson are offering a lot more than Brandin Cooks and Todd Gurley did last season.
This team is also playing some really inspired defence as well, ranking third in the league in total points allowed so far. Led by superstar Aaron Donald, they have been able to disrupt the run game and cause constant pressure in the passing game, which has led to mistakes for opposing offences.
The key for them will be to continue playing from ahead. They’ve done so in the first two games and that’s allowed them to have balance.
Buffalo Bills
The Bills have shown incredible offensive improvement compared to last season, ranking seventh in total points scored right now. It appears that their big trade to bring in star wide receiver Stefon Diggs was worth it as he has been the focal point of the passing game so far, racking up 16 receptions for 239 yards. He has been able to make such an impact due to Allen’s improved accuracy. Allen has thrown for 729 yards and six touchdowns and running for one more through only two weeks of football. He looks to be among the most improved players in the league. His improvement makes this team a lot scarier than people realize.
Meanwhile, the defence is still one of the best in the league. So far, they are ranked seventh in the NFL in total yards allowed and are fifth in sacks. Everyone knows Goff struggles under pressure, so if they can disrupt him, they’ll be in much better shape.
